The New York Mets left Jason Pridie off their 40-man roster in November, making him a free agent and available to sign with another team.  The 28-year-old outfielder caught on with the Oakland Athletics on a minor league deal, but his chances of making the club may have gone out the window with news that he has been suspended for 50 games.

I thought Pridie did a pretty decent job as a reserve for the Mets, playing sound defense and providing some speed (7 stolen bases in 8 tries) in the line up, though he did only hit .231 in 208 at bats.

Hard to know exactly what the future will hold for Pridie but you don’t need a crystal ball to see a slew of Ryan Braun jokes coming his way.
