Pirates (92-68) at Reds (90-70) 1:05 PM–Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati MLB.com Gameday TV: FOX With two games to go, the Pirates have finally been eliminated from NL Central contention. Today, they will set out to accomplish the one goal remaining in the regular season: home field on Tuesday night. They can wrap it up with a win today and make Game 162 a meaningless scrimmage, or a loss would make Sunday’s game determine the location of Tuesday’s contest. Today’s game was moved up to 1 PM and will be shown on FOX, to most of the country (a rarity). Here’s the coverage map.  Today’s starters… Charlie Morton (7-4, 3.14) vs. Bronson Arroyo (11-14, 3.60) Charlie loves pitching at Great American Ball Park, where he shut down the Redlegs for five innings in one of his first starts this season after returning from an injury. He hasn’t seen the Reds since then but has pitched well against them in the past. Charlie’s last start was another excellent one, as he blanked the Cubs for seven innings. He’s been remarkably consistent for the Bucs and will hopefully get the opportunity to start a playoff game in a week or so. Who would have predicted that? Arroyo has also been solid and consistent for the Reds, and defeated the Pirates in Sunday’s blowout. He was shaky early on in that game but recovered well enough to get through five, and also had a strong outing against the Pirates earlier in the season.
