Juast over a few hours ago it was determined that Royals great and Hall of Famer George Brett will manage the US team at the 2012 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game. The game will take place on July 8 at Kauffman Stadium as a part of Major League Baseball's All Star Weekend. George will have work help from inside the Royals' organization with Omaha Storm Chasers manager Mike Jirschele on the coaching staff, along with former KC manager John Wathan, who is currently a Special Assistant for Player Development & Scouting and Chris DeLucia, Kansas City’s Medical Operations Coordinator. George Brett had an amazing career with a being one of 4 major leaguers with over 3000 hits, 300 home runs, and a lifetime .300 batting average. George was a 13 time All-Star, winning the American League MVP in 1980, the ALCS MVP 1985 and winning the World Series in that same year.
