Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson underwent successful surgery Friday afternoon, for an injury he sustained Wednesday night against the New York Mets. The Atlanta Braves media relations department announced that the veteran pitcher’s surgery was to repair a fractured fibula and the deltoid ligament in his right ankle and was performed by Dr. Marvin Royster in Atlanta.  He is expected to begin baseball activities in late November. Hudson’s wife, Kim, also announced via Twitter that everything went well with the surgery. “Tim is out of surgery. Dr. Royster did an amazing job, and everything went well,” Kim Hudson said.  “He’ll be back and better than ever!” Hudson was hurt while covering first base on a ground ball to first baseman, Freddie Freeman.  The Mets runner, Eric Young, stepped on the back of Hudson’s foot, causing the injury.  Hudson arguably had the best stuff he has had all season, as he pitched into the eight inning and gave up only two runs while striking out nine.
