The Chicago White Sox just got by the Kansas City Royals by a score of 2-1 in-game three this afternoon. If someone would have told us Kevin Youkilis would have back to back days going 0-4 you probably would have suggested for them to have their heads examined. That is exactly what Youkilis did, he went 0-8 in his last 8 at bats for the White Sox. The entire Chicago line up is suffering now. Alejandro De Aza went 0 for 5 today, Paul Konerko went 0 for 3 and Dayan Viciedo went 0 for 4.

Is the Kansas City Royals pitching staff that good. We didn’t even talk about the fact Alexei Ramirez went hit-less as well. The White Sox offense looks anything but like the offense we saw before the All-Star break. The White Sox may have won the game, they certainly had a little help from others in the A.L. Central to extend their lead. There were many when the season started that questioned if the White Sox had what it takes on this team to get into the play-offs. Perhaps the team is just in an offensive slump at this point of the season. If they don’t come out of it soon, others could catch them.

The Sox have a 3-1/2 game lead in the A.L. Central and it looks as though the Tigers are starting to turn things around. If the Chicago White Sox offense can’t get it going and soon, they could be faced with giving up first place. This is no time for the White Sox offense to take a breather.

Kevin Youkilis' Return to Fenway Park Should Bring Cheers, Unlike Visits From Other Former Players (Photos)

Kevin Youkilis returns to Fenway Park on Monday night and there's little doubt that Red Sox fans will be giving the former corner infielder the "Friendly Fenway" treatment. Youkilis was a fan favorite and popular among his teammates and the city of Boston. After all, he climbed through the Red Sox minor league system to become the player he is today. He walked off the...

White Sox Kevin Youkilis Goes 0 For 4 As The Royals Beat The Sox 6-3

Kevin Youkilis has been on fire all season long, he is a big reason the Chicago White Sox have a three game lead in the American League Central. When we see Kevin Youkilis go hit-less in a game it makes you wonder if the White Sox magic is about to fade or is it just a bad day for the red hot Youkilis? The White Sox still have a lot of baseball to play this season and if they are...

Youk's Love Note to Red Sox Nation

Kevin Youkilis sent a wonderful nice and sentimental to Red Sox fans on the eve of Youk returning to Fenway Park since being traded to the Chicago White Sox in June.  It was posted to ESPNBoston and here is a transcript of Youk's love letter to the city and the fans:   What an amazing run I have had these past 8 1/2 years in Boston! It has been an honor and a privilege...

The Red Sox host Chicago for a four game series, Youkilis returns to Boston

Starting tonight the Red Sox will host the Chicago White Sox for a four game set at Fenway Park. This marks the first series against Chicago since the trade that sent longtime Red Sox third basemen Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox. The Red Sox have publicized the event, in the hopes of giving Fenway [...]

Valentine: Rift was Youkilis' fault

It's no secret that Kevin Youkilis didn't get along well with Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine, a conflict that contributed to the third baseman being traded last month to the Chicago White Sox. But it didn't have to be that way, Valentine said Sunday. "I think the comment I made early, he made a big issue about and I don't think he ever wanted to get over...

Red Sox victory spoils Youkilis' return

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox warmly welcomed back an old friend, then sent him to the visitors' clubhouse in disappointment. While Kevin Youkilis clearly remains a fan favorite at Fenway Park, the cheers he received as a member of the White Sox seemed almost quiet to the roar after Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth to break a 1-1 tie as the Red...

Gonzalez HR spoils Youkilis' return

It was almost perfect for Boston Red Sox fans: They cheered Kevin Youkilis early in the game and enjoyed a late-inning rally by their team. A limping David Ortiz just put a bit of a damper on the nice night. Adrian Gonzalez spoiled Youkilis' return to Fenway Park, hitting a tiebreaking three-run homer in the eighth inning of a 5-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday. The...

Bobby Valentine's Continued Comments on Kevin Youkilis Set Stage for White Sox' Visit to Fenway Park (Video)

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine already got in trouble once for comments he made about former Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis. Back on April 15, he told WHDH's Joe Amorosino that he didn't think that Youkilis was "as physically or emotionally into the game as he has been in the past for some reason." The two have had a testy relationship ever since, and that may...

Bobby Valentine Feels Kevin Youkilis Never Wanted 'To Get Over' His Controversial Comments in April

The tension between Bobby Valentine and Kevin Youkilis hasn't evaporated. Before Sunday's game against the Rays, Valentine was asked about the White Sox third baseman, who will be making his return to Fenway Park on Monday for the first time since he was dealt from Boston on June 24. The Red Sox skipper didn't shy away from the question. From his perspective, Youkilis...

Red Sox spoil Kevin Youkilis' return to Boston

A four-run eighth inning was the difference Monday night in a 5-1 Boston Red Sox victory over the Chicago White Sox. Kevin Youkilis received a standing ovation from the Fenway faithful after making his first appearance to Boston since being traded earlier this month. Youkilis hit a first inning single off Boston starter Aaron Cook who pitched seven strong innings without allowing...

Kevin Youkilis, Ray Allen Should Both Be Cheered in Returns to Boston

There has been much debate about the kind of reaction Kevin Youkilis will receive when he comes to bat for the first time as a member of the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park on Monday night. While the safe bet would be a steady chorus of "Youuuuuks," there will probably be a few fans in attendance who will boo the 33-year-old infielder. And that would be a shame. Youkilis...

Youkilis avoids new Valentine barb

Chicago White Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis refused to comment Sunday on the latest criticism from Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine.

Adrian spoils Youk's welcome back party as Red Sox win 5-1.

In a night that had Kevin Youkilis' return to Boston & the season debut of Carl Crawford, the biggest return was Adrian Gonzalez's power. Gonzo took a high fastball from Leyson Septimo into the monster seats for a three run home run that helped give the Red Sox a 5-1 victory.   It did "spoil" Youkilis' return as he recieved a standing ovation in the...

Welcome Back CC & Youk

It had an almost poetic feel to it. On a night when Carl Crawford finally made his 2012 debut, Kevin Youkilis also made his return to Fenway Park for the first time since being traded to the Chicago White Sox. Youk, greeted warmly by the Fenway Faithful, went 3-for-4 and scored the lone Chicago run in a 5-1 Red Sox victory. Meanwhile, Crawford (pictured) went 1-for-3 with a walk...

Youkilis returns to Fenway, Ortiz injured

Monday was a busy day in the world of Boston sports, led by the return of Kevin Youkilis to Fenway Park. The Red Sox won the game 5-1 over the White Sox as a result of Adrian Gonzalez’ three-run home run in the eighth inning. The big story of the game was on the home run designated hitter David Ortiz appeared to injure his leg while rounding second base. Following the game manager...
