The Baby Birds finished the night with a 4-2 record as Memphis and Palm Beach were the only losers. Oscar led the way for Memphis in the loss with 3 hits. I believe it will take a significant injury in St. Louis for Taveras to get called up. Jacob Wilson returned from the disabled list and homered in his second at bat. I’ve said it before, but Wilson has to be the surprise of the year. James Ramsey hit his 7th home run of the year. Last year, Ramsey had 1 home run in the same amount of games. Zach Petrick started his first game of the year and did not allow an earned run in 4 innings. Petrick has not allowed an earned run since getting promoted to Palm Beach, and his season ERA is 0.58. I hope they keep starting him. State College and Johnson City are off to great starts and are a combined 6-1. It is too early to tell who will excel over the season, but both lead-off hitters are off to great starts. Jimmy Bosco has hit safely in 4 straight for State College and Vaughn Bryan of Johnson City has 3 stolen bases in 2 games. Exciting things to come from these two teams.
