Good: Jayson Werth hit a 492-foot blast during a spring training game against the Mets.

Bad: the ball ended up reaching the parking lot and hitting a truck’s back bumper.

Funny: the truck belonged to Werth himself.  What are the odds?

What started out as only a rumor turned out to be true that Werth’s prodigious home run off Mets pitcher Matt Harvery struck the bumper of his truck this past Sunday, in what may very well be the hardest ball Werth has ever hit as a member of the Washington Nationals.  Luckily for him that it was his truck that was hit, so he doesn’t have to worry about paying damages, exchanging insurance information, and whatnot.  Those whatnots can be a pain in the rectum.

From Florida Today…

Washington outfielder Jayson Werth’s home run truly did hit his truck, according to eye witness accounts.

Dan Geiger and his daughter Tracy were watching the Washington Nationals game against the New York Mets on Sunday from the Tiki bar in left field and watched Jayson Werth’s home run sail over their head, hit a tree and then the back of his pickup truck, striking the back bumper.

One-in-a-million shot doc…one-in-a-million shot.
