LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Willie Bloomquist put Arizona ahead with a bases-loaded, two-run infield single off Los Angeles closer Brandon League in a four-run ninth inning, helping the Diamondbacks rally for a 5-4 victory over the Dodgers on Monday night. Diamondbacks closer Heath Bell then barely held on as Arizona won its fifth straight against the Dodgers and is 6-1 against them this season, including a three-game sweep in May. The D-backs closed to 3-2 on pinch-hitter Jason Kubel's infield single to second base that scored Martin Prado, who singled with one out in the ninth. Gerardo Parra doubled to deep center before League walked pinch-hitter Didi Gregorius to load the bases. Bloomquist hit a sharp grounder that shortstop Nick Punto stopped with a dive behind second base but couldn't hold onto the ball and Parra and Josh Wilson, running for Kubel, scored to give the D-backs a 4-3 lead, their first of the game. Peter Moylan replaced League and gave up a RBI single...

Really, Dodgers? We're going to do this again? Really?
Just a few days shy of the first anniversary of Andre Ethier signing a five-year, $85 million contract extension, the Dodgers are said to be looking to trade away the former All-Star... for the third time.
Yes, that fickle GM Ned Colletti is rumored to be ready to take another crack at ridding himself of that onerous...
Olivia Munn, the Geek Goddess beloved by both nerds and admirers of attractive, talented and quirky women alike, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday at Dodger Stadium. Most impressive — in and above how nice Miss Munn looked in a Dodgers jersey — was [...]The post Olivia Munn throws out first pitch at Dodgers...
I was able to add yet another awesome Corey Seager to my modest collection of the future Dodgers' star. For just a bit over half a blaster, this sweeeeeet patriotic patch piece is now mine.Numbered 09/99, it's a fantastic two colors with some gray jersey mixed in for good measure. The card hails from the Game Gear Jerseys Prime subset of 2013 Panini USA Baseball Champions...
What a great start to a Dodgers career.
Rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig has been named National League Player of the Week after his historic Los Angeles debut.
In his first week after being called up on June 3 from double-A Chattanooga, Puig led the MLB with 27 total bases and was tied for the lead with four home runs. His .964 slugging percentage was second-best in the majors and...
On Monday night, what looked to be a 3-1 Los Angeles Dodgers victory quickly dissolved in the ninth inning due to Brandon League‘s inability to nail down the save, turning a probable victory into a 5-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
D-Backs starter Wade Miley got off to a rough start in the first inning: he walked Mark Ellis on four pitches before retiring Adrian Gonzalez on...
Don’t mess with a $147 million pitcher. There will be retaliation.
Before Diamondbacks starting pitcher Ian Kennedy hit counterpart Dodgers starter Zack Greinke, three other batters had been hit in Tuesday night’s contest between Arizona and Los Angeles. When Kennedy threw one up and in that plunked Greinke high on the shoulder, well, that was all it took.
Arizona’s Cody Ross...
Let me set the scene: in the bottom of the sixth inning, Diamondbacks starting pitcher Ian Kennedy plunked Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig in the head (it looked unintentional). Puig stayed in the game after being checked out by trainers. In the top of the seventh, Zack Greinke returned the favor and drilled D’Backs catcher Miguel Montero. And then Don Mattingly chose to leave Greinke...
Before Monday’s Diamondbacks-Dodgers game, it was the Olivia Munn show at Chavez Ravine. She was the Dodgers special guest to throw out the first pitch, which she properly walked out to the mound to do. Then, Dodgers catcher Ramon Hernandez flirted his head off with her on the walk back to the dugout (she isn’t interested, Herny).
Finally, she made Matt Kemp’s ego...
The Dodgers started off Day 3 of the 2013 MLB Draft by taking catcher Spencer Navin out of Vanderbilt University with the 334th overall pick.

Navin’s coach had this to say about him:
“Spencer may be the most talented catcher we have had in our program,” Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin told the school’s official website. “He’s tough, durable...
Los Angeles has seen its share of international baseball sensations grace the city, but none have invigorated the town as quickly as Yasiel Puig. The 22-year-old Cuban sensation won NL Player of the Week last week after batting .464 (13-28) with four home runs and 10 RBIs in his first week with the Dodgers. He [...]
He is the seven-day sensation that is sweeping the nation. Yasiel Puig has been a major league ballplayer for barely a week and is already making national headlines with a historically hot start to his career.
On Friday night, Puig blasted his fourth home run in just his fifth career game, the second player to do that since 1900, the first being Mike Jacobs in 2005. The 22-year old...

West Coast baseball, you got to love it. Too bad folks out east aren’t awake to witness physical type baseball. They only here about stories the next morning. Anytime Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, Zach Greinke is on the mound watch out. This is the second time he and his team were involved in a bases clearing brawl. Luckily he wasn’t...
We talk about the “old-school” a lot on this blog. Heck, we harken back to the days where it was “OK to throw inside.” So, this is not going to be a debate about unwritten baseball rules. We’re perfectly alright with how folks handle their guys getting hit. It may seem ridiculous to then apply “logic” to unwritten rules that so many view as bunk to begin with…but...
The newest hot, young thing in Los Angeles is a guy you can't take your eyes off of. He's well-built, with a winning smile and engaging personality. He doesn't say a lot, preferring to let his performance speak for him.
He's getting rave reviews, and is a hit on the Internet. Hollywood isn't after him yet, but if Yasiel Puig keeps this up, opportunities will...
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks broke into a bench-clearing brawl on Tuesday, and once again Zack Greinke was at the center of the mayhem.
