The Los Angeles Angels scored just as many runs in each game, as the Detroit Tigers did in the entire series.  After outscoring the Tigers 18-1 over the first two games, including a 10-0 shutout, the Angels beat the Tigers in 13 innings last night to complete the sweep, and are now winners of 5 of their last 7.  It was only a matter of time before a lineup this stacked got going.  Peter Bourjos picked up 7 hits this weekend, including a triple, while driving in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.  Mike Trout hit his first Grand Slam and drove in 6 runs, while scoring 4 times himself.  Albert Pujols added 6 hits and 5 RBI off Tigers pitching.  Mark Trumbo added 5 hits including his 2nd Trum"Bomb" of the season, which was a walkoff.Josh Hamilton failed to join the hit parade going 1 for 13.Los Angeles had been missing quality pitching and finally got that this weekend from Garrett Richards and Tommy Hanson who combined for 13 shutout innings.  C.J. Wilson gave them 6 innings as well, allowing 3 runs on Sunday night.  The bullpen was great tossing 11 innings, allowing a single run.Miguel Cabrera & Prince Fielder combined for 9 of the Tigers 24 hits, driving in 3 of the teams 4 runs.After Friday's game was postponed due to the Boston Manhunt, the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals played a double header on Sunday after an emotionally charged Fenway Park beat the Royals on Saturday.  The Royals took both games in the doubleheader.Clay Buchholz improved to 4-0, beating James Shields, lasting 8 innings of 8 hit, 2 run ball.  Andrew Bailey picked up his 4th save.  David Ortiz returned to the Red Sox lineup and delivered this F*cking speech as well as 2 hits (5 for 8 on the weekend).  Daniel Nava was the hero, after he blasted a 3 run game winning homer in the bottom of the 8th inning off Kelvin Herrera.Mike Napoli hit his 3rd home run of the season and increased his RBI total to 20!  He has 24 strikeouts but take teh good with the bad!  With Big Papi back, there are goign to be even more opportunitites!Ervin Santana was great, AGAIN, and lasted 7 innings allowing ust 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out 7.  He should be picked up in all league formats!Lorenzo Cain hit 3 doubles and home run over the weekend.Greg Holland picked up saves # 4 and 5 during the doubleheader, striking out 5 batters in 2 innings.The Texas Rangers outscored the Seattle Mariners 23-3 this weekend in one of the ugliest sweeps of the early season.  Kyle Seager had 6 of the Mariners 18 hits and 2 of the 3 RBI.Yu Darvish earned his 3rd win, pitchign 7 shutout innings racking up 10 Ks, while Justin Grimm punched out 9 Mariners over 6.  Nick Tapesch was pulled from his start after 1.2 innings as he was hit with a comebacker.  He will make his next start.  The Rangers offense hit 7 home runs, 3 doubles and 2 triples.  Nelson Cruz and A.J. Pierzynski each had 4 RBI.Travis Hafner, Vernon Wells and Kevin Youkilis continue to lead this Yankees offense, as they took 2 of 3 from the Toronto Blue Jays.  Each Yank picked up 2 RBI in a game and Wells hit 2 homers (5) while Hafner also added his 5th.Robinson Cano picked up 6 hits in Toronto including his 5th and 6th double of the season.Andy Pettitte pitched 7.1 innings en route to his 3rd win of the season, and Mariano Rivera picked up his 5th save of the season.Melky Cabrera added 6 hits and 4 RBI, Jose Bautista hit his 4th homerun, J.P. Arencibia added his 6th and 7th homeruns.Adam Lind walked 4 times in last nights game.  Mark Reynolds is swinging a hot bat and picked up 5 RBI this weekend as the Cleveland Indians took 2 of 3 from the Houston Astros.  Reynolds hit a grandslam, his 7th home run, and increased his RBi total to 18.  Carlos Santana added 2 doubles and 2 homeruns increasing his batting average to .380.  He scored 5 times and added his 7th 8th and 9th RBI.Nick Swisher hit 4 doubles.Cleveland got terrible starting pitching from Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers and Ubaldo Jimenez but the offense won them the series.  The starters lasted 13.1 innings, allowed 16 hits, 13 runs and 5 home runs.The Minnesota Twins had another game postponed as the weather in Chicago this weekend was terrible.  The Twins won both games vs the White Sox and Glen Perkins earned his 4th and 5th saves striking out 4 batters.Josh Willingham picked up 4 of the Twins 6 RBIJake Peavy and Gavin Floyd both pitched well enough to win, but the White Sox offense was stymied by Twins pitching.  Adam Dunn struck out 6 times in 2 games, but he ddi hit his 3rd home run.  Alejandro De Aza added his 4th home run.The Tampa Bay Rays pitching staff shut down one of baseballs hottest teams in the Oakland Athletics, holding them to just 4 runs over the weekend.  Starters Jeremy Hellickson, Alex Cobb, and Roberto Hernandez aka Fausto Carmona tallied 20.1 innings of 16 hit ball allowing 4 runs and striking out 16.  Fernando Rodney picked up just his 2nd save of the season.In interleague play, the Baltimore Orioles took 2 of 3 from the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camden Yards.  Jim Johnson (7) and Brandon League (5) each earned a save this weekend.In game two of the series, Manny Machado picked up 3 hits and 4 RBI scoring twice.  He was 0 for 9 in the other two games.Chris Davis picked up 7 hits including 3 more doubles and his 7th home run of the season.Matt Kemp had 2, 3 hit games, but only drove in a single run.
