Santana and the Angels pitching staff go into New York this weekend
looking for answers for their lackluster play so far this season.

Alright, so the 2012 season isn't exactly going as planned for the Angels or
the Yankees so far. The Angels are coming off of 2 rough losses in which the
bullpen blew leads, their record stands at a very underwhelming 2-4. The
Yankees started the season 0-3 but were able to win their last 3 games putting
their record at .500.
Although the series begins on Friday the 13th, the Angels luck
could not get any worse then it has been the last few days. They look to bring
their recently found hot hitting bats with them from Minnesota to New York and
hopefully, someway, somehow, the bullpen can hold any lead the Halos get this
The Angels avoid Yankees’ ace C.C. Sabathia and will face the back end of
New York’s rotation, which is a good thing. ...

NEW YORKThe Los Angeles Angels have reshuffled their bullpen once again, cutting right-hander Rich Thompson and promoting lefty Brad Mills from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The moves came before Saturday's game against the New York Yankees. The Angels had lost five of six.
Thompson was a valuable member of the Angels' bullpen last year, going 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 41 games...

Salt Lake Bees - The Bees bounced back from a tough walk off loss, and won Friday night's game 5-4. The game was in the hands of the bullpen all day due to Brad Mills being with the big club. David Pauley started the game and got the job done - 4 innings, 0 runs, 3 hits. Loek Van Mil and Ryan Brasier also turned...
The Los Angeles Angels have purchased the contract of right-hander David Carpenter from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned utilityman Alexi Amarista to the minors to help their beleaguered bullpen.
The 24-year-old Carpenter joined the Angels for the start of their three-game series Friday against the New York Yankees. His first appearance will mark his major league debut.

Salt Lake Bees:
The Bees blew out the Reno Aces, 11-3 on a night in
which snow was falling on the field. Matt Shoemaker started for the
Bees and turned in a productive start - 5.1 innings, 2 runs, 3
strikeouts. Shokemaker has only walked 2 batters in his 11.1 innings so
far this year. Offensively, things...
Albert Pujols is learning that hitting a baseball is tougher when the number attached to your name has a dollar sign.
After a weak opening week with the Los Angeles Angels, Pujols has a contract ($240 million) more imposing than his batting average (.217). He had no home runs and just two RBIs going into Friday's game at New York, the Yankees' season opener.
Los Angeles Angels center fielder Peter Bourjos hit an inside-the-park home run in Wednesday night's game at Target Field against the Minnesota Twins. It happened in the top of the fifth inning with two men on base. Bourjos hit a deep fly ball to left field. Twins left fielder Josh Willingham looked to be in position to make the catch, but the ball was just over the outstretched...
Now, wasn't that better? All the Angels needed was a bit of quality pitching, an explosion of power and suddenly all is right with the universe. My hunch is that the Angel players got together and said, "enough is enough. Let's get our act together" and, VOILA!!, it happened. The question is it just a fluke or the beginning of a legitimate winning streak...Angels...
The April 12th, 2012 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels ...
C.J. Wilson beat the Yankees for the first time in his career, Albert Pujols and his teammates teed off and the Los Angeles Angels romped past New York 7-1 Saturday.
Howie Kendrick, Chris Iannetta and Vernon Wells homered as the Angels ended their three-game skid and stopped New York's winning streak at four.
Pujols got in the swing, too, after a quiet start with his new club...
What follows is last night's Peter Bourjos inside-the-park home run, which is one of America's great inventions. And also a Bengie Molina triple, from 2010. Same sport!
"I could watch Peter Bourjos run all day!" -- You
(14.26 seconds for Bourjos.)

“I'm very confident that we'll be able to get something done,” he said. “Erick wants to be here. It's just a matter of winding up a deal that works for both sides. (The negotiations) have been...
