The Louisville baseball team has advanced to the winner’s bracket of the NCAA regional after defeating Bowling Green on Friday by a score of 8-3. The Cards will face second seeded Miami today at 5 PM at Jim Patterson Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Miami defeated Oklahoma State 7-0 in the regional opener. Bowling Green and Oklahoma State will play in an elimination today at noon. Junior Chad Green became just the seventh pitcher in school history to reach double figures in wins in a single season improving to 10-3 overall. He allowed three runs on five hits with five strikeouts in 7 innings. Junior outfielder Coco Johnson finished with two home runs while Jeff Gardner added three hits. With Friday’s win Louisville improves to 3-0 all-time in NCAA Regional openers at Jim Patterson Stadium and 12-10 overall in the regional round. The Cardinals home record improved to 32-5 at home this season and 212-75 all-time at Jim Patterson Stadium since it opened in 2005.
