Left fielder Ryan Ludwick has revived his career with the Reds.

But he's thinking about the rest of the season, not the future.

Ludwick and the Reds have a mutual option for next season. Given the season Ludwick has had, it's likely that the Reds will pick up the $5 million option.

And Ludwick?

"That's so far down the road I haven't even thought about it to be honest with you," he said. "My main goal right now is to finish the year healthy, finish the year strong, finish the season the way I've been playing, try to get to the postseason and win a ring.

"Then we'll talk about that stuff when the season's over."

Ludwick signed late with the Reds for $2.5 million with the option on Jan. 27. He's hitting .270 with 25 home runs and 70 RBI after going 2-for-4 with a RBI in the Reds' 3-2 win over the Phillies on Wednesday. Since the All-Star Break, his 13 home runs are the second most in the majors (Albert Pujols has 14).

"(Contracts are) one thing I've never really gotten caught up in," he said, "even last year when I knew I was going to be a free agent at the end of the year. I don't get caught up in contracts. I think it's because I've been hurt so much with the hip and couple knee surgeries, the wrist surgery.

"I know everything kind of end in an instant. I just try to enjoy every day."
