Found October 22, 2011 on MetsOnline:

According to a Major League source of Andy Martino of the New York Daily News, former Mets GM Omar Minaya will interview to be the Los Angeles Angels’ GM.

Omar Minaya was the Mets’ GM from 2005-2010 and was an Assistant GM of the team beforehand. Also, he was the GM of the Expos prior to working for the Mets.

Minaya was relieved of his duties as General Manager of the Mets after 2010.

The Angels have and will be interviewing many people for the vacant GM job, so it is not completely shocking that they will be interviewing Mr. Minaya. However, I do doubt he gets the job. He will most likely be working with another team as an Assistant GM or “Special Assistant to the GM.” He has an offer on the table to work for GM Kevin Towers in Arizona.
