AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees
Adam Warren made his first start since returning from the big leagues, but unfortunately, the result was the same. Warren got shelled by Lehigh Valley, allowing six runs on ten hits and four walks in six innings of work. He also failed to strike out a single hitter. The poor outing resulted in Warren taking his sixth loss of the season. For Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the offensive highlight of the night was Brandon Laird, who hit his seventh home run of the season in the fifth inning. That and Russell Branyan’s RBI single in the sixth inning was the extent of run production on the evening as the Yankees left ten men on base.

AA: Trenton Thunder
With Dellin Betances, I guess it’s time to take the good with the bad. The good? Betances got through six innings last night and struck out nine. The bad? Betances allowed six runs (though just one “earned”) on seven hits and three walks. He also threw under sixty percent of his pitches for strikes as he took the loss. Offensively, Trenton’s production was limited to David Adams and Zoilo Almonte. Adams would go 3-for-4 on the evening, while Almonte was 2-for-4 with a double. Trenton’s lone run came off the bat of Neil Medchill, who had an RBI groundout in the seventh inning.

High-A: Tampa Yankees
Nik Turley was lights out against Brevard County last night, allowing just one hit over six shutout innings while striking out six hitters. The performance was easily Turley’s best of the season as he picked up his fourth win. He would combine with Manuel Barreda and Mark Montgomery for the one-hit shutout. The lone run in last night’s game came off the bat of recently promoted Gary Sanchez, who hit his first home run with Tampa in the seventh inning. The win by Tampa gave manager Luis Sojo his 419th career victory in the Florida State League, the most of any manager in the league’s history.

Class A: Charleston RiverDogs
Charleston’s game against Savannah was rained out last night, and will be made up as part of a Saturday night doubleheader.
