The Colorado Rockies recently designated infielder Reid Brignac for assignment to make room on the roster for DJ LeMahieu. Following the move, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports notes that the Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins could be a few of the teams interested in Brignac. #pirates and #twins are among teams that could have interest in @reidbrignac — Jon Heyman (@JonHeymanCBS) May 17, 2013 Brignac came up through the Tampa Bay Rays’ minor league system as a top prospect. His potential never developed in the majors, and Tampa Bay dealt him to the Rockies in February. Since joining the Rockies, Brignac appeared in 29 games, hitting .250/.294/.375 with three doubles and one home run over 53 plate appearances. Over six seasons in the majors, the 27-year-old has hit .228/.270/.321. During his time in the majors, Brignac has spent most of his time manning the infield, specifically second and third base and shortstop. However, he’s also seen limited time in the outfield.
