Next up the Washington Nationals for the Memorial Day weekend. Is it too early to say these games are a must win? They are important and they might also help set the table for the season series. The Phillies who are on a two-game winning streak courtesy of Cliff Lee’s 3-0 shutout are two games back behind the second place Nationals. The bats might be coming alive, the first being Delmon Young who for the second straight day went yard. Ryan Howard also was a big contributor in Miami and if you were watching used the open left-field picking up an easy hit. Howard’s double, a check swing roller the second example of the night of how ridiculous the over-shift can be exploited. Yes we all understand that Howard is expected to drive the runs in and hit home runs. But how many more could he knock in if he forced the defense to play HONEST? Keep hitting them to left RYAN take away the shift and the RBI title is yours! Lets go Phillies!Similar Posts: Its time for the Phillies to move Howard out of the cleanup spot Phillies odds and ends: Winning on the road, Kendrick MVP?
