After placing Matt Wieters on the 15-day DL, the Baltimore Orioles were reminded how shallow they are at the catchers position. Wieters isn't eligible to play until the 26th of May and until then the Orioles have two catchers who don't have a lot of experience at the major league level. Through five years in Baltimore, he has a 3.04 ERA, has struck out 115 batters, walked 35, and has a WHIP of 1.152. He has pitched 157.2 innings in 138 appearances, just over one inning of work per game. Despite serving a 25-game suspension for a positive amphetamine test, he would be a solid addition to any bullpen. More importantly, the Orioles need a catcher with a good arm and dealing Patton would be a good start to negotiations. The Orioles have be...
