PLAYERS: Sean Marshall
TEAMS: Cincinnati Reds

With Sean Marshall set to undergo shoulder surgery on Tuesday, his Reds teammates decided to give him some moral support by setting up a "Shoulder Work Ahead" construction sign in front of his locker before Sunday's game against Toronto. The southpaw is having surgery for the first time in his career to debride his left shoulder. For those of you unaware of the medical term, it basically means to clean it out."I think in the long run it will help this team," the 32-year-old said. "The doctors are confident with what they can do and how they can make me feel. I'm ready to start this journey."I'll work as hard as I can to get back."Cincinnati placed the ailing hurler on the 60-day disabled list last week so Marshall's recovery isn't expected to be a speedy one.Via Cincinnati Enquirer

Confident Contreras ready whenever Reds need him

CINCINNATI -- This is one of those baseball feel good stories that pop up in the clubhouse when least expected, sort of like the old Candid Camera. But this C.C. -- Carlos Contreras -- is a pitcher, a pitcher who made his major-league debut Saturday night for the Cincinnati Reds against...

Nothing flashy about Johnny Beisbol

It was the second error of the inning for the Reds, who were leading 1-0...

This time, eight run lead is enough for Reds to beat Blue Jays

Reds starter Mike Leake knew coming into Saturday's game that he was going to get every chance to go deep, with little or no concern about a quick hook. Not only because the bullpen couldn't have absorbed another game like Friday's, but neither could the manager, the fans or any extraterrestrials who had picked up the TV signal in outer space. Leake (5-6) responded...
