Today's a pretty busy day for baseball news, but I'm leaving in a couple hours to make the Thanksgiving trek back to Western PA and so I don't have a whole lot of time to really write about some things I'd like to tackle today, like the new CBA. The new CBA is going to be announced within minutes here, and it's going to include some kind of strict luxury tax...
The Orioles have apparently signed 33 year-old right-handed relief pitcher Chong Tae-Hyon to a two-year, $3.2 M contract. The submariner - or Korean Chad Bradford*, as I'm going to think of him until I learn how to pronounce his name (and maybe after that) - has a 1.93 career ERA in 569 IP in South Korea. Other numbers; 7.1 K/9, 3.3 BB/9, 0.4 HR/9. By comparison, Chad Bradford...

The Baltimore Orioles hae agreed to terms with Korean reliever Chong Tae-Hyon.
MLB.com, citing a baseball source, said the sides still have to agree on the exact length and money for the deal.
The 33-year-old Chong closed out the gold medal game of the 2008 Olympics, when South Korea toppled Cuba.
A submarine-style pitcher, Chong reportedly relies on sharp control.

Izturis, 31, has spent the past three seasons in Baltimore, where he has played shortstop, second and third. He missed much of the 2011 season with elbow...
The Orioles have been talking to Korean free agent reliever Chong Tae-Hyon, tweets Danny Knobler of CBS Sports. According to Korean reports, Tae-Hyon has stopped all talks with his old team, the SK Wyverns, and wants to come to MLB. Stories of the Orioles' interest first surfaced last week in Korean newspapers, which you can read here and here. Click here to see a video...

The Orioles' holiday spirit started in earnest last month, as the organization's employees gathered to participate in the Maryland Food Bank's Third Annual Elect to End Hunger packing event, on Oct. 27 at the Food Bank's headquarters in Baltimore.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially announced the signing of six minor league free agents via a team press release. Five of the six we’ve already heard about (Jose Diaz, Brandon Boggs, Jake Fox, Shairon Martis, Stefan Welch). The one name we haven’t heard is Kyle Cofield.
Cofield is a 6′ 5″, 220 pound right hander who pitched in the Chicago White Sox system last year...
