With 36 hours of anger & fury being unleashed over Josh Beckett, you would think the flamethrower would come out and pitch a dominant game to quiet the naysayers right?

Wrong and it wasn't even close.

Beckett was struggling with his control and the Indians took full advantage, giving up seven hits and allowing seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings and those in attendance let Beckett have it with a plethora of boos.  Then the offense couldn't do enough against old friend Derek Lowe and that leads to a very depressing loss to the Indians, 8-3.

The bullpen did a stellar job stopping the bleeding as Andrew Miller, Rich Hill, Scott Atichson, Franklin Morales, and Alfredo Aceves only allowed one run on five hits for the remaining 6 2/3 innings. The Sox did manage to get nine hits off of Lowe but that sinker led to 13 ground ball outs and ruined any chance to get into the game.

Every member of the starting lineup managed to get one hit and Adrian Gonzalez was the only one to get two.  Dustin Pedroia hit his fifth home run of the year and Daniel Nava also got his first RBI of the year after being called up today. Apparently this team hasn't hit rock bottom after all. They're still free falling all the way down to the bottom of the American League.
