The Red Sox beat the Orioles in every possible way tonight, topping Baltimore 13-2. Starter Felix Doubront easily outdueled his opponent, Wei-Yen Chen. This is less a compliment to Felix -- who was fine, giving up two runs in six-plus innings -- than a criticism of Chen, who was awful. He yielded eight runs to the Sox and couldn't get out of the 4th inning.  That leads us to the offense. The O's tallied just four hits on the night, while the Sox feasted on Baltimore pitching to the tune of 14 hits. The aforementioned 4th inning included the highlights of the night -- Mike Napoli led off with a home run that not only cleared the Monster, it landed on the far side of the roof of the parking garage across the street. I can't recall seeing one hit farther, but I'm sure Manny did it like 12 times. I mean, look at this thing: Your browser does not support iframes.  Napoli wasn't the only slugging member of the Sox: Shane Victorino went 3-for-3, scored four times, homered twice (both line drives over the Monster), and drove in seven runs. Decent night. The Sox' defense also outshined the O's, as Stephen Drew made his play of the year at short. Adam Jones hit a slow ground ball between short and third and Drew ranged over it and made a running throw to get the speedy Jones. Drew -- in typical Drew fashion -- wasn't flashy, but it was an amazing effort. It might not look as good as a sliding catch or one of those pointless Jeter jump-throws, but it was impressive. And to cap things off, Matt Thornton and Drake Britton combined for an inning and a third of perfect work (on 10 total pitches, think the O's were ready to get back to the hotel?) while Orioles relievers gave up five runs. Hey, tomorrow's a new day, Baltimore. Box score
