The Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals will discuss a potential trade involving shortstop Troy Tulowitzki at the GM/owners’ meeting in Orlando this week, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports. The Caridnals have shown significant interest in Tulowitzki and have also inquired about the availability of a shortstop from the Texas Rangers, who have Elvis Andrus and Jurickson Profar. Rockies owner Dick Monfort told the Denver Post last month that Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez would not be traded. “The plan is to keep them. Next year, yes. And my plan is to always keep them,” Monfort said to The Denver Post. “Is that the smartest thing in the world to do? I don’t know. But for our fans I think it’s the best thing to do.” Tulowitzki, hitting .297/.369/.516 with 154 home runs in seven seasons, has a no-trade clause in his contract, but Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday, a former teammate in Colorado, is a close friend. • Trying to get Troy Tulowitzki would be a good try,but the Cards might have to give up too much in return. How about trying to get Eric Aybar and Mark Trumbo from the Angels for Matt Adams, Lance Lynn,Pete Kozma, and John Jay?

Then getting Coco Crisp and Josh Donaldson from the Oakland A's for David Freese,Jaime Garcia,Ted Cruz, and Shane Robinson?
The Cardinals would fill every position That they need to fill.I'm sure if Dewitt needs to, he could make some adjustments with the other owners if needed. GO CARDS...

Carlos Beltran could be 2014 version of Kyle Lohse for St. Louis Cardinals

One of the biggest decisions the St. Louis Cardinals will have to make during the offseason is whether or not to sign right fielder Carlos Beltran to a new contract, but don’t expect a deal to get done anytime soon, if at all. With the success demonstrated by St. Louis Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Michael Wacha in the 2013 Major League Baseball post-season, questions are being asked all across the game. Other clubs which passed on the right-hander, taken 19th in the 2012 draft, are being grilled. ST. LOUIS -- As expected, Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez was named NL Rookie of the Year Monday, beating out Cardinals right-hander Shelby Miller and Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig. And as expected, balloting by 30 members of the Baseball Writers Association of America (two from each NL market) proved a runaway for Fernandez, the 21-year-old from Cuba. Fernandez received 26...
