Most Red Sox fans hate A-Rod, but could they learn to love a K-Rod? Both the Red Sox and Tigers are scouting Brewers reliever Francisco Rodriguez, according to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. Rodriguez, a four-time All-Star, might not be the same pitcher he was with the Angels at the beginning of his career, but he is having a very good season for Milwaukee. K-Rod has a 1.09 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 10 saves in 24 2/3 innings over 25 appearances, and according to Rosenthal, the 31-year-old threw 93-94 mph on Friday. The Red Sox could certainly use bullpen help, as they’ve lost Joel Hanrahan, Andrew Miller and Andrew Bailey to season-ending injuries this season. Koji Uehara has continued to pitch well since becoming the team’s closer, so if the Red Sox did acquire Rodriguez, they would have to figure out which role to use him in. Rodriguez’s 62 saves in 2008 still stands as a single-season record. He has saved 304 games over the course of his 12-year career.
