Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Roy Halladay will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday. Halladay, 36, has not pitched sine May 7. Halladay had a bone spur removed from his right shoulder in mid-May and he recently threw a five-inning simulated game. Halladay to pitch Thur in Gulf Coast League. Might only need 2 rehab starts if all goes well, Amaro said — Jim Salisbury (@JSalisburyCSN) August 12, 2013   There have been no setbacks for Halladay since the shoulder on his surgery. Halladay will be a free agent at seasons end but the Phillies will get the first look at what he has left in the tank. They also are the team most familiar with his medical charts.
