Updating a previous report about the Los Angeles Dodgers pending moves, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com is reporting that the Dodgers are looking to add Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers have plans in place to acquire both players even if the club ends up signing Ryan Dempster or Matt Garza.

It remains to be seen if Brian Sabean and the Giants will counter moves made by the Dodgers. At this point, it appears as though the Giants are going to stand pat.

Pirates Looking For a Bat, Bidding on Victorino

Following the trade for Wandy Rodriguez, the Pittsburgh Pirates are now going for a hitter. Danny Knobler of CBS Sports reports that the Pirates are seeking help at first base or the outfield. Rob Biertempfel reports that the Pirates asked for Shane Victorino, but talks were hung up when Philadelphia asked for Brad Lincoln. Biertempfel reports the Pirates were offering Jared Hughes...

Trade Talk: What Value Does Hunter Pence Have?

Only eight more days until the July 31st trade deadline. Right now the Phillies are 14.0 GB in the National League East and 10.0 GB for the second wild card spot. With 66 games remaining in the regular season, the Phils' chances of making the playoffs are slim to none. With reports speculating that Ruben Amaro Jr. is looking for trade options for some of his players, it only...

Victorino, Greinke Being Scouted Tonight; Pence, Polanco also in Trade Talks

Shane Victorino and starting pitcher Zack Greinke are among the few being scouted tonight, Jim Salisbury reports. Victorino is the talk of most trade situations that could happen for the Phillies before the trade deadline. He's not alone, there have also been rumors of dealing away Pence or Polanco. Zack Greinke has found himself in a very Ryan Dempster-esque situation. He...

Shane Victorino’s One-Dimensional Bat

The latest rumor around Shane Victorino comes from Cincinnati, where one Reds insider claims the club turned down a deal that would send Logan Ondrusek to Philadelphia straight up for Victorino. Ondrusek appears a decent long-term bullpen piece, but for a team in the Reds’ position — fighting for the playoffs and with a mediocre 102 wRC+ out of its left fielders — Ondrusek...

Today, I will give a couple brief scenarios on what trades suitors the Phillies could have with center-fielder Shane Victorino. There are multiple teams that have inquired the Phillies about their center-fielder. Notable teams linked to Victorino are the Pirates...

Good Game; Let's Talk Trade? The Phillies Are Reportedly "Eager" to Trade Hunter Pence

Buried in this morning's Ken Rosenthal report which pretty much bashed the Miami Marlins for their team construction and now demolition, was this quick blurb on Hunter Pence: The Phillies continue to signal to clubs that they are eager to move right fielder Hunter Pence, who could earn $13 million to $14 million next season in his final year of arbitration. Pence, 29,...

The Phillies Trading Hunter Pence? Some Analysts Guarantee It; Pirates, Dodgers Interested

Of course we are happy about Cole Hamels signing.  It does appear that money could motivate the Phillies to move Hunter Pence as the Phillies look to stay below the luxury tax.  ESPN's Jose Cruz Jr. says definitively, "Hunter Pence's days as a Phillie are numbered", and that "it's a question about money for next year." Possible suitors appearing...

SF Giants Rumors: Chase Headley and Hunter Pence Make Sense, Minus Two Bullpen Arms Off The List

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com says there is a strong probability that Padres third baseman Chase Headley will be dealt.   The San Francisco Giants are in the market for a third baseman and switch hitting, 28-year-old Headley would make perfect sense. It’s just not likely that the Padres would deal him within the division. Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com says the Phillies are letting...

Cherish This Weekend

9 games out of the playoffs with 3 games to play before the trade deadline. A sweep this weekend pulls the Phillies within 6 and in legitimate playoff contention. 2-1 puts them at 8 out, 1-2 at 10 out, and getting swept puts them 11 games out at the trade deadline and firmly in sell mode. Cherish this weekend – it may be the last time you see the Phillies together as you know them...
