Since the Yankees have made it known (Yankees Kicking The Tires On Beltran) that they are entertaining the idea of pursuing free agent Carlos Beltran. Jon Heyman says (via twitter) that he’s hearing the Red Sox may be in play for Beltran, and the San Francisco Giants are in too. Beltran was easily the best hitter in the Giants lineup. The bad thing about the Giants is they play in the national league, so there’s no DH. The Red Sox and Yankees can move Beltran to the DH, and give him some days off of playing the field. Which could then also give them the flexibility to offer him something longer than 3-years. Which I believe the Giants should not offer more than 3-years for Beltran’s services.~King of Cali (Steven)———-——–—-——-——––———————-—————————————————-You can follow SF Giants Rumors Facebook page for more Giants updates! Brian Wilson’s Hilarious Response to the Beltran Trade

Brian Wilson is comedy gold. Give him a microphone and sit back and enjoy the show. Ask Brian about anything and he will give you a response that makes you both question his sanity and die from laughter. After weeks of campaigning for a Carlos Beltran trade, Wilson finally got what he wanted. When asked about the deal, the Bearded Wonder did not disappoint with his answer. Or...

Red Sox could also be in on Beltran bidding

Image by Michael G. Baron Just because Theo Epstein is out of Boston doesn’t mean the rivalry between the Yanks and Sox has gone with him.  I’m sure nobody expected that would be the case but just in case you needed a simple reminder it appears as though the AL East powerhouses may once again be competing for the services of the same big name free agent.  That player is former...

Report: Yanks Not Chasing Beltran

If you're a baseball team chasing free-agency talent, the last thing you want are the Yankees and Red Sox chasing that same free-agency talent. They have piles and piles of money and they make it difficult and/or insanely expensive to add important pieces to a roster. So it's good news for the Giants that the Yankees are reportedly unlikely to chase after free-agent-to-be...

According to Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York, a Yankees source who participated in the team’s organizational meetings on Wednesday, said that Carlos Beltran’s name came up as the potential replacement for Nick Swisher – whose option may be declined. “He’s on our list,” said a team official who was present at the meeting. “But we have to make a decision on Swisher...

Beltran Plenty Of Options

So we’ve all expected to hear that San Francisco Giants outfielder Carlos Beltran would have plenty of options this off season, especially from the top tier teams but I guess it wasn’t official till today. Why? Because Jon Heyman put names to the player, so now everyone’s got to talk about it. Guess that means I will too. @SI_JonHeyman: Hearing #redsox may make play for...

Yankees Executive: We’re interested in Carlos Beltran

According to Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York, the Yankees brought up Ex-Met Carlos Beltran in discussions at an organizational meeting yesterday. A team official said: “He’s on our list. But we have to make a decision on Swisher first.” In 2011, Nick Swisher hit .260 with 23 homeruns, 85 RBI, and 81 runs. He had an OBP of .374. In 2010, he hit 29 homeruns, drove in 89, scored...

Yanks Talking About Beltran

From Wallace Matthews:Not long ago, it was considered a slam-dunk that the Yankees would pick up Nick Swisher's $10.25 million option for 2012, despite another miserable postseason performance. Now, it's not so clear. The reason? Carlos Beltran, a free agent after seven up-and-down, and mostly down, seasons with the Mets. Beltran is being shopped hard by his agent,...

Yanks could make play for Carlos Beltran

According to Wallace Mathews of ESPNNewYork.com, the Yankees may turn their attention to former Met rightfielder if they decline to pick up Nick Swisher’s option for this coming season: Not long ago, it was considered a slam-dunk that the Yankees would pick up Nick Swisher’s $10.25 million option for 2012, despite another miserable postseason performance.
