Bobby Valentine vs. Gene Lamont

At last the Red Sox long winding managerial search is almost over. After a month of searching and interviewing, the Red Sox seem to have the field narrowed to two; Bobby Valentine and Gene Lamont. While neither option is stellar, like it or not one of these two men will be managing the Red Sox win 2012, barring any major surprises.  The biggest question is, who should get the...

Red Sox Will Name Valentine Or Lamont As Next Manager

According to a report in the Boston Herald, the long and winding Red Sox managerial search has entered its final stages, and barring a surprise, the team has whittled its list to a pair of finalists: Gene Lamont and Bobby Valentine. The former met with Sox ownership for a second interview earlier this week and remains in the running. The latter met with ownership first and then...

Bobby Valentine Calls Interview Process With Red Sox 'Invigorating' (Video)

Bobby Valentine has been through the interview process many times before, but going in to interview for the Red Sox' manager job made him "nervouse," he admitted. I'm not having much luck confirming this, but the Twitter tells me there is a video clip of Bobby Valentine saying he loves baseball "more than his wife."For his sake, I'm hoping this is just spin, and that Mrs. Valentine signed off on the statement in advance.Give Valentine credit, he really wants the job. Personally I find that worrisome, but I've been wrong before.

Murray Chass The Jack Ass-curotsy of ******************.com I received a link today of a post that Murray Chass (the big dumb ass) wrote about Bobby Valentine and how he can’t stand BV and BV couldn’t stand him either. Chass it seems felt it was his duty to call Larry Lucchino the Red Sox CEO, to find out how the Sox managerial search was going. I guess after screaming at his...

Manager Search Down to Two

The Red Sox have narrowed the search for a manager down to two candidates; Bobby Valentine and Gene Lamont.  Everything points to Valentine being the front-runner and Lamont only there if a deal can't be worked out with Bobby V.  Look for the final announcement to come on Monday or Tuesday.

Thoughts on the New Manager Search

Time to catch up on the Sox after a few weeks of Two-a-Days (hope you enjoyed them).  The big news right now for the Sox is the managerial search which is apparently likely to end in the next day or two.I am not a huge Bobby Valentine fan.  I do not know if he is going to bring the “disciplinarian” aspect to the job and he is enough of an egomaniac that I am skeptical of him...
