Felix Hernandez shut down the Yankees over 6 innings and left the game with a 3-1 lead before he watched the bullpen give up 3 runs in the 7th as the Yanks win 4-3. CC Sabathia went 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 10, however Shawn Kelley picked up the win in relief. Curtis Granderson returned to the lineup and hit clean up, going 0-3 with a walk and run scored. Lyle Overbay had an RBI double in the 6th to get the Yanks on the board and then hit a go ahead, game winning, sac fly in the 7th. Robinson Cano had a 2-run game tying double in the 7th. Kyle Seager had an RBI double in the 3rd, and Raul Ibanez hit a 2-run home run in the 6th. The 43 year old Mariano Rivera now has 16 saves on the year.Carlos Gonzalez was a triple shy of the cycle as he finished 5-5 with 2 solo home runs and a double, scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Jeff Francis went 6 innings striking out 7 and allowing 1 run as he picked up the win. Troy Tulowitzki went 3-5 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and a RBI. Eric Young Jr. went 2-5 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Todd Helton went 2-4 with 2 RBI. Charlie Villanueva got rocked over 5 innings of work, allowing 12 hits and 7 runs. Darwin Barney went 3-4 with a double, a home run and 2 RBI.Matt Moore improved to 7-0 on the year as the Rays beat the Red Sox 5-3. Moore allowed a 3-run home run in the 1st to David Ortiz but settled down after that, allowing 1 hit the rest of the way and finished with 6 innings pitched and 8 strike outs. The Rays scored all 5 of their runs in the 4th. Luke Scott had an RBI double, Jose Molina had a 2-run single and Matt Joyce drove in 2 with a infield single. After Ortiz hit the home run in the 1st, the Red Sox managed 1 hit the rest of the game. John Lackey falls to 1-4 after giving up 5 runs in 4 1/3 innings.The White Sox got another good outing from Jake Peavy as they beat the Twins 4-2. Peavy allowed 2 runs over 7 innings and Addison Reed picked up his 12th save of the year. Adam Dunn and Dayan Viciedo hit back to back solo home runs in the 2nd inning. The Twins tied it up after Oswaldo Arcia had a RBI single in the 5th and Tyler Flowers RBI double in the 7th. Tyler Flowers broke the tie in the 8th with a RBI double and the White Sox got an insurance run when Alexei Ramirez singled Flowers in. Kevin Correia falls to 4-3 after allowing 4 runs in 7 innings.Homer Bailey rested the Reds bullpen as he threw a complete game in a 6-2 Reds win over the Marlins. Bailey struck out 10 allowing 6 hits and 2 runs. The middle of the Reds lineup (2-5 hitters - Zack Cozart, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips and Xavier Paul) combined to go 8-18 with 4 runs scored and 6 RBI. Ricky Nolasco allowed 6 runs in 5 innings. Derek Dietrich and Rob Brantly drove in the Marlins 2 runs.Doug Fister improves to 5-1 as he allowed 2 runs over 7 innings and the Tigers beat the Astros 6-2. Miguel Cabrera went 2-3 with a walk, double and a home run. He is now hitting .375 with a .448 on base. Lucas Harrell suffered the loss as he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings. J.D. Martinez and Jimmy Paredes drove in the 2 runs for the Astros in the 2nd inning.The Blue Jays got one of their best starts of the year from R.A. Dickey as he struck out 10 and allowed 2 runs in 6 innings, in a 10-6 win over the Giants. Melky Cabrera went 4-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Jose Bautista went 2-3 with 2 walks and 2 runs. Edwin Encarnacion went 2-4 with a walk, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Brett Lawrie had 3 hits including 2 doubles and a RBI. Barry Zito was rocked for 12 hits and 8 runs in 5 2/3 innings. Brandon Belt had a solo home run and a RBI double, and Pablo Sandoval hit a 3-run home run in the 9th.Rookie Jonathan Pettibone improves to 3-0 as he allowed 2 runs in 6 2/3 innings in a 6-2 Phillies win over the Indians. John Mayberry Jr. went 3-4 with a double, a run scored and 3 RBI. Kevin Frandsen and Domonic Brown each hit a solo home run. Scott Kazmir suffered the loss allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. Michael Brantley provided all the offense for the Indians with a 2-run single in the 2nd.We got some great pitching in the Padres 3-2 win over the Orioles. Andrew Cashner threw for the Padres and allowed 2 runs in 7 1/3 innings and Chris Tillman allowed 1 run in 7 innings while striking out 7. Both did not factor in the decision. Carlos Quentin hit a solo home run in the 2nd to put San Diego up 1-0 but Ryan Flaherty tied it up with a solo blast in the 3rd. The score stayed at 1-1 until the 8th when Steve Pearce hit a single that scored Alexi Casilla, who came on as a pinch runner and stole second, and advanced to third on a bad throw. Jim Johnson came on for the save but suffered his first blown save of the year as he allowed back to back singles to start the inning, but got a big double play making it 2 outs and the tying run on 3rd. Chris Denorfia singled to center to tie the game, then Johnson hit Nick Hundley and Everth Cabrera drove in the go ahead run with a single. Huston Street picked up the save for the Padres.Making his MLB debut John Gast picked up the win for the Cardinals in a 10-4 win over the Mets. The Cards offense provided Gast with 6 runs over the first 3 innings and then a 9-0 lead after 5. Matt Carpenter went 2-3 with 2 walks, a run scored and a RBI. Carlos Beltran went 3-4 with a 3-run homer as he drove in 4 and scored twice. Jon Jay hit a solo home run and Allen Craig drove in 2. Dillon Gee lasted just 4 innings allowing 9 hits, 3 walks and 6 runs. John Buck broke the shutout in the 6th with a RBI single, and Marlon Byrd hit a 2-run home run.They played 12 in Pittsburgh as the Pirates beat the Brewers 3-2 in extra frames. Jeff Locke started for the Pirates and went 6 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 6. The Pirates bullpen went 6 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 walks and 5 strike outs. Vin Mazzaro picked up the win. Pittsburgh scored their first 2 runs on RBI ground outs by Garrett Jones in the 1st and Clint Barmes in the 6th. Russell Martin tied the game at 3 in the 8th with a RBI double. Martin and Jose Tabata each doubled twice. Andrew McCutchen hit a walk off home run leading off the bottom of the 12th. Jean Segura hit a solo home run in the 1st, Carlos Gomez had a RBI double in the 4th, and Segura drove in another run with a ground out in the 5th. Kyle Lohse allowed 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings and the Brewers bullpen went 5 1/3 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and 2 runs. Mike Fiers suffered the loss. Norichika Aoki and Ryan Braun each had 3 hits and a run scored.Another rookie pitcher who continues to shine is Patrick Corbin for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is now 6-0 after shutting out the Braves over 7 innings, in a 2-0 Diamonbacks win. He allowed 3 hits while walking 5 and striking out 5. His ERA is now at 1.52.  Heath Bell picked up the save. The only runs in the game came off the bat of Didi Gregorius who singled home 2 in the 3rd inning. Julio Teheran pitched well, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings but its tough to win when you get 0 runs of support. The lone bright spot in the Braves lineup was Reed Johnson who was 2-2 with a double and a walk.After throwing 132 pitches, Clayton Kershaw was 1 out shy of throwing a complete game shutout against the Nationals. The Dodgers beat the Nationals 2-0 and Kershaw went 8 2/3 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 run while striking out 11. Kenley Jansen retired the final batter of the game to earn his 2nd save. The only offense in the game came off the bat of Andre Ethier who singled home 2 in the 3rd inning. Dan Haren pitched well allowing 4 hits and 2 runs over 7 innings but received 0 run support. Ryan Zimmerman had 3 of Washinton's 5 singles.Jason Vargas pitched well for the Angels, who beat the Royals 6-2, allowing 2 runs and striking out 7 in 7 innings of work. He was backed with a ton of power from the Angels offense who hit 4 home runs. Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton, Howie Kendrick, and Mike Trout all hit solo blasts off of Jeremy Guthrie. Guthrie went 7 innings, allowing 11 hits and 5 runs, suffering his first loss since August 3rd of 2012. Billy Butler continues to hit well as he went 2-4 with a double, a home run and drove in 2. In the 1st 2 games of this series Butler is now 7-9 with 3 doubles, 1 home run, 3 runs scored and 7 RBI.All of a sudden Mitch Moreland has 9 home runs, after two last night, as the Rangers came back to beat the Athletics in extra innings.  Nelson Cruz tied the game in the top of the 8th with a sacrifice fly off Ryan Cook.  Moreland and Adrian Beltre each hit solo home runs in the top of the 10th.  Joe Nathan walked 3, gave up an RBI double to Seth Smith before getting a strike out and ground out to end the game and pick up his 12th save.  2 of Josh Donaldson's 4 hits went for doubles, his 13th and 14th of the season.
