PLAYERS: Bryce Harper

After some time off (my fault, not his), Bo Rosny is back!  And with's Bo with This Week in Baseball Cards.

A very interesting piece on the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League a couple of weeks ago. I thought the league disbanded after the war. I had no idea that it was still active as late as 1954. A few years ago there were some cards put out with some stars of the league.

Here is one with former Rockford Peach star Ruth Richard.

Less interesting was an entire post about a man in Washington who painted “I heart Bryce Harper” on his wall. I guess that’s newsworthy because that’s usually something little kids do on oak tag, not adults on their wall?

Finally, there is going to be a “football” game at Wrigley Field this summer. Twenty years ago the Mets played football in Wrigley and managed to block their own kick.

And remember, gang, you can check out Bo's daily insights over at his site...Baseball Cards Come to Life.

Bryce Harper Won’t Be Enjoying A Beer In Canada, You Morons

Bryce Harper plays in his first Canadian game, goes 3-for-4 with a solo dong and the retards in the Canadian media want to know what kind of celebratory beer the under-21 Harper (19) would be drinking. Yeah, because the drinking age is 19 in Canada. Our boy comes back with what will be the next huge meme craze. “Clown question, bro,” Harper responds. Clown question indeed. You...

Bryce Harper Says 'That's a Clown Question, Bro' When Asked Whether He'd Enjoy a Beer in Canada (Video)

At just 19 years old, Bryce Harper can't even legally enjoy a beer in the United States. When he crosses the border, however, it's fair game. Just don't ask him about it. Harper hit a monster home run at Rogers Centre on Tuesday as the Nationals picked up a 4-2 road victory over the Blue Jays. The blast drilled a BlackBerry sign located to the right of the park's...

Washington OF Harper returns to starting lineup

Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper returned to the lineup Monday night, one day after he didn't start because of a sore back. The 19-year-old Harper came on as a pinch hitter and scored the decisive run as the Nationals beat Boston 4-3 Sunday to complete a three-game sweep. After drawing a walk, Harper scored from first base on a ninth-inning double by Roger Bernadina...

Asking Bryce Harper if he will have a celebratory beer is a ‘clown question, bro’ according to Bryce Harper

To start, Bryce Harper is 19-years-old. So it’s not legal for him to drink beer….in the U.S. Well last night, Harper and the Nationals played in Toronto where it’s legal to drink at 19. So since Harper hit a very impressive home run in the Nationals’ 4-2 win over the Blue Jays, one reporter thought he would ask whether Harper would have a Canadian beer to celebrate. And...

Bryce Harper Hates Clown Questions

Bryce Harper is lighting the MLB on fire, and making the Washington Nationals a league wide story.  However despite all of the early success, Harper is keeping a level head, and not allowing silly questions to distract him from the task at hand.  Check out Bryce Harper's reaction when a reporter ask the 19 year old phenom about a possible celebratory drink after the Nats pick...

Young MC 'busts a move' with Bryce Harper jersey (Video)

The Washington Nationals are Doing it Right

In case you haven’t heard, the Washington Nationals are a thing now. No, really. At 36-23, they’ve got the second best record in baseball, the best team ERA, and as much as it pains me to say it, this little thing called Bryce Harper, luckily sans “skullet,” which makes it hurt a little less. Here’s the thing about the Nats though, after Harper they don’t hit very well...

Is Giancarlo Stanton the Most Dangerous Hitter in the National League Right Now?

The Red Sox' swing into interleague play hasn’t just put them up against some great pitchers, which is supposed to be the hallmark of the National League. The Sox have also had to deal with some pretty hot bats. Two of the best hitters in the National League are on teams the Red Sox are playing in this six-game stretch. Bryce Harper is wowing the league as a teenage slugger...
