The Detroit Tiger’s (64-57) bats got started early scoring five runs in the first inning, but gave it right back the very next inning. The Baltimore Orioles (66-55) scored four in the second inning, then tied it, and gained the lead in a 3-run, fourth inning. The Orioles never looked back as they won third game, and this weekend series, on a final score of 7-5.
The Tiger’s offense was paced with a 3-run homer by Jhonny Peralta and a solo-shot by Omar Infante. Right fielder Jeff Baker added a RBI double, as the heavy hitters in Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabera were relatively quiet going a combined 2-6. Cabrera had an uncharacteristic 2 strikout night.
