The Detroit Tigers looked like a solid choice to win the AL Central title in 2011, after adding slugger Victor Martinez at DH and not losing any major components. Sure enough, they won the division, even with Martinez only posting a 2.9 fWAR on the season. They got contributions from plenty of players, and won the division in a cakewalk after the Indians collapsed in the second half...

How magnificently did the Tigers bullpen perform for Justin Verlander this season? How much did it contribute to his season? Verlander pitched three complete-game wins. On the plane ride home from their playoff elimination in Texas, several Tigers players chatted with one another.
Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander was honored as Player of the Year in voting among his major league peers.
Alright, free agent season is upon us. The Tigers were a couple of wins away from a World Series appearance and most of their key players will be back this year. Still, Dave Dombrowski has some work to do because the Tigers had some serious holes come playoff time. Let’s take a look….. Catcher – [...]
