Found February 14, 2013 on Waiting For Next Year:
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Trevor Bauer has fired back at Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero through what may be the most intriguing manner in recent Cleveland sports history — a diss track titled “You Don’t Know Me” wherein the chorus includes a line about “hiding behind a mask.” Bauer was the recent target of criticism from former teammate and catcher Miguel Montero. Following a brief stint in the majors with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Montero and Bauer had a well-documented difference of opinion. Just this week, Montero wished Indians catcher Carlos Santana “good luck” in dealing with the 22-year old Bauer — “When you get a guy like that and he thinks he’s got everything figured out, it’s just tough to commence and try to get on the same page with you.” Upon the acquisition of Bauer, we opened the lid on Bauer’s rapping career with the group “Consumate 4sight.“ We have embedded the recently released track for your listening pleasure, complete with Bain’s introduction. We’ve also snipped a few choice lines. Your fifteen minutes, I guess I get that. With that, its time to get back to all these fans that I’ve been losing due in part to the rumors moving about that that I refuse to listen So people get this vision of me, no one goes up hitting for me I swear I’ve never been gifted nothing [...] It don’t matter how many Xs or Os you draw I plan to get that, bro You’re a mouse in a cat’s game Get where I’m at, man I ain’t playing tic-tac-toe [Related: Trevor Bauer: Eccentric or just smarter than the rest of us]

Miguel Montero on Trevor Bauer: “Good Luck to Carlos Santana”

It’s not news that the Indians were able to pry Trevor Bauer from the Diamondbacks due to some personality conflicts in the clubhouse—especially between Bauer and his battery-mate Miguel Montero.  Evidently Bauer chose not to partake in the tutelage proffered by Montero, and this rubbed the veteran backstop the wrong way. Montero, wanting to make sure this was still a story...

Trevor Bauer Releases Rap Song, Sounds Pretty Much How You Might Expect it to Sound (Audio)

Trevor Bauer is a professional baseball player. He’s good at playing baseball. He’s not a professional rapper. He apparently thinks he’s good at rapping. The Cleveland Indians prospect has released a rap song, and it is, well, interesting. The track is titled “You Don’t Know Me,” and it is all about, well, people not knowing him. According to the blog Waiting for Next...

Trevor Bauer says rap song was about critics in general, not Diamondbacks

On Wednesday, former Arizona Diamonbacks pitcher Trevor Bauer released a new rap song entitled “You Don’t Know Me.” The timing of the release was an incredible coincidence, as D-Backs catcher Miguel Montero had just made comments earlier this week about Bauer and how difficult he was to work with. The rap track (which you can listen to here) had plenty of curious lines in...

30 Prospects in 30 Days: Trevor Bauer – SP – Cleveland Indians

Image Courtesy of: marc_tacoma Trevor Bauer is a highly touted prospect recently acquired by the Cleveland Indians from the Arizona Diamondbacks.   He has an incredibly high ceiling in terms of potential in that his stuff, once polished, can be that good.  However, Bauer is very young, only 22 years old, and with that age comes a stubborn immature attitude, according to former...

Trevor Bauer Didn’t Want to Listen to Instruction Before Getting Traded, According to Miguel Montero

When Trevor Bauer, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2011 MLB draft, got traded in December, it came as a shock to some people. But after his former catcher, Miguel Montero, spoke out about dealing with the 22-year-old right hander, it became a bit clearer why the Diamondback pulled the trigger on the deal. Montero said that Bauer was a pain to deal with in Arizona. He didn’t take...

Is Trevor Bauer’s Terrible New Rap Song A Diss Track Directed At Miguel Montero?

Trevor Bauer is one of the most highly touted pitching prospects in baseball. He is also a terrible, terrible rapper and possibly kind of a dick. When he was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Cleveland Indians in the offseason, his former teammate and catcher Miguel Montero made some pointed comments about Bauer's headstrong and stubborn nature before wishing Indians...

Does Trevor Bauer’s new rap song take shots at Miguel Montero (Audio)

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded 22-year-old pitcher Trevor Bauer to the Cleveland Indians earlier this offseason, and on Monday D-Backs catcher Miguel Montero gave us some insight as to why the team decided to make the move. Montero said that Bauer was difficult to work with and was not open to taking advice from veteran players and coaches. Bauer’s latest rap song would seem...

Miguel Montero rips Trevor Bauer for not wanting to listen to anyone

Trevor Bauer has an incredibly unique throwing routine (see a video of it here) that worked out well for him during his days at UCLA and later in the minor leagues. Last season, Bauer made his MLB debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He did not pitch well in four starts, compiling a 2-1 record to go along with a 6.06 ERA. He struck out 17 batters in 16 1/3 innings, but struggled...

Trevor Bauer regresses….on the mic

Trevor Bauer looked really good in the media just days ago when he deflected Miguel Montero’s blast about Bauer not taking any of Montero’s sage advice.  But alas, the PR boost was not meant to last.  Bauer’s rap group, consumate4sight, released a track called “You Don’t Know Me”. One of the iron clad rules of sports:  If you release a rap album...

Indians not looking to trade Stubbs or Brantley

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports tweets this morning that the Indians plan to use Bourn, Stubbs and Brantley. This is a bit of a reversal from last night when Heyman thought the Indians might look to trade either Stubbs or Brantley- “#indians plan is for swisher to play 1B (& some OF), reynolds to DH (& some 1B/3B). not “looking to move” stubbs/brantley” Bourn, Stubbs and...
