Hank Conger reached on Conor Gillaspie's error to start the inning and scored on Trout's sharp single to right off reliever Matt Lindstrom that gave the Angels a 6-5 lead. J.B. The White Sox rallied in the bottom half of the inning scoring four to tie it. Michael Kohn (1-0) pitched an inning of scoreless relief for the win. Ernesto Frieri allowed a leadoff walk to Alexei Ramirez in the ninth but struck out the side and picked up his sixth save in seven attempts. Chicago starter Dylan Axelrod (0-3) took the loss.

It Doesn't Suck To Be Angels Pitcher C.J. Wilson (Just Check Out His Model Fiance)

Tell me if I'm wrong guys, but when we were in high school and college there were just a few things we needed to have the perfect life--babes, beer, bad ass ride, bucks, and balls (baseballs, footballs; whatever your game of choice is). Most of us are probably far from living the life that we envisioned back then, but not Angels starting pitcher C.J. Wilson. No, he's got...

Angels protest game, rally for win

The Los Angeles Angels protested Thursday night's game against Houston and then beat the Astros anyway. Mark Trumbo hit a two-run double in the eighth inning before Alberto Callaspo's go-ahead sacrifice fly sent the Angels to a 6-5 victory in a game that lasted more than four hours. ''It was huge,'' Trumbo said. ''It was a draining game. It was over...

Angels overcome umpire buffoonery, defeat Astros 6-5

The story of this game should be how the Angels are barely clinging to life after sneaking out of Houston with a late-inning rally to avoid a sweep. But you and I know we can't focus on that, not after the shenanigans Bo Porter and the umpires pulled. If you missed it, enjoy watching a MLB manager and umpiring crew take a dump over the very basic rule than any pitcher entering...

The Strange Case of the Earth-Bound Angels

Josh Hamilton is among the many Angels who haven't had success so far. (Credit) There are fans who don’t expect much from their team in the beginning of the season and consequently give up by July when the team has confirmed all of their predictions. There are fans that expect their team to do well and maybe even make the playoffs, but are left distraught by July when they...

Dayan Viciedo Reinstated; Jordan Danks Demoted

As was announced Friday afternoon, Dayan Viciedo and the White Sox feel his rehab assignment with the AAA Charlotte Knights is complete, as they've reinstated "Tank" from the 15-day disabled list. Adam Dunn Rediscovering Identity

Truth be told, I don’t know all that much about Chris Cornell. Were I in charge of a massive Chris Cornell museum, I’d constantly be thinking to myself, “I don’t know how this happened.” But I know a few years ago, Cornell went solo and released an album that was a complete departure from his previous music. It sold, but people didn’t really like it that much, and before...

Jerry Dipoto's rebuild/reload plan

Like any Angel fan, I've continued to monitor their free agency decisions and subsequent performances for the past two seasons since Jerry Dipoto was hired.  I'm beginning to recognize a pattern that likely reflects the approach Dipoto has taken toward putting his own personal touch on the Angels system.  To the untrained eye, it appears as though the Angels have a bloated...
