MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins on Tuesday acquiredleft-handed pitcher Kris Johnson from Pittsburgh. In exchange, the Twins sentpitcher Duke Welker -- originally acquired by the Pirates in October -- back toPittsburgh.The 29-year-old Johnson made his major league debut lastyear with the Pirates and appeared in four games, including one start. He was0-2 with a 6.10 ERA in 10 innings. Johnson had better success in the minorsin 2013, going 10-4 with a 2.39 ERA in 26 games with Triple-A Indianapolis.Welker, 27, was a part of the trade that sent Justin Morneauto Pittsburgh in exchange for Alex Presley and a player to be named later.Welker officially became the last part of the deal on Oct. 5.
