Found April 17, 2013 on Reds Minor Leagues:
Tomorrow Tony Cingrani will take the mound for the Reds. I will have up a “what to expect from Tony Cingrani” article tomorrow morning with a full scouting report. I bought my tickets this morning to go see the game which should be an excellent pitching match up between our guy and the Marlins super prospect Jose Fernandez. I can’t wait, just hope that the weather holds off today and tomorrow so the pitching match up doesn’t change. Jon Moscot is really struggling so far in 2013. Last year, in limited action for Billings, he was dominant as he posted a 2.88 ERA in 25 innings with 6 walks and 26 strikeouts. Through three starts with Bakersfield Moscot has posted an ERA of 13.09 with 6 walks and 10 strikeouts in 11 innings. It is not worth much to take something from the stats in 11 innings, especially from a starter because they come from just 2-3 games, but I am going to. Moscot has a current “strand rate” of 49%. Major League average is 70-75% in a given year. His BABIP against so ...

Is Tony Cingrani ready for the big show?

When one door closes, another door opens. Such is the case with Johnny Cueto and Tony Cingrani -- the latter of which figures to replace Cueto's spot in the rotation once the time comes. On Monday, the Reds promoted RHP Justin Freeman from Triple-A Louisville to provide some help to a weary bullpen. However, Cingrani is expected to make Cueto's next scheduled start...

Tony Cingrani Impressive In Major League Debut

In a game that was set to be a pitching duel between young guns Tony Cingrani and Jose Fernandez at Great American Ball Park, it seems as if Fernandez forgot to turn around at the ten count to fire. Neither pitcher was expected to go too deep into this game, with both being young and on inning limits this season, but the end score of 11-1 was certainly unexpected. While his pitch...

His three homers in only five games and 18 at-bats this season have traveled an average of 417 feet. “The Mountain” is batting a ridiculous .611 this season with five extra-base hits. Adams’ playing time has been sporadic as the Cardinals...
