Last Thursday, I took a look at the Louisville Bats projected roster for 2012. Today I am looking at the projected roster for the Reds newest farm affiliation, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Double-A). Below, is my projected roster for the Reds, Bats and Blue Wahoos.
Cincinnati has reportedly signed RHP Wirfin Obispo to a minor league contract, according to this tweet by Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports on Thursday . Here is a write-up regarding the move taken from baseballreference.com:
"Signed as an 18-year-old shortstop by the Red Sox in 2002, Obispo was converted to pitching by the Reds in 2004 and put up solid numbers for Cincinnati...
While guys like Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, Brandon Phillips and Johnny Cueto need not worry about making the big league roster this Spring Training, the following list of players do. These 15 non-roster invitees have been offered the outside shot at making the Reds' 25-man Opening Day roster, and you better believe they're chomping at the bit for the chance.

Is Votto getting annoyed by all the speculation as much
as we are?
Reds first baseman Joey Votto is still two full seasons away from potential free agency, however that hasn't deterred a multitude of curious onlookers from speculating about his future. After the offseason circus that was the rumors leading up to the signings of Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder, Votto'...
Spring Training in Goodyear, AZ, is right around the corner. After a somewhat surprising 2010 season that included a divisional crown and playoff berth, the 2011 Cincinnati Reds followed up with a disappointing year. Many pundits and analysts had predicted another NL Central championship, but the Reds faltered the second half of the year and could never catch the playoff-bound Brewers...

Yes, for the moment everyone is occupied with the Super Bowl. I’m no football fan, but I’m as wrapped up in it as anyone. It helps when Super Bowl Village is five blocks away from your office. But soon that will be all over with, and then what? March Madness doesn’t even start till June these days!
Enter Fox Sport Ohio with the cure: reruns of old Reds games and a little spring...
Vaughn's time in Cincy was short and sweet
Februrary 2nd, 1999 - On the heels of a 77-85 season and 4th-place finish in the division, the Reds unload OF Reggie Sanders, UTL Daiman Jackson, and minor league SP Josh Harris to San Diego in exchange for OF Greg Vaughn and 1B Mark Sweeney.
The acquisition of Vaughn proved to be a catalyst in propelling the team to a 96-67...
It was just two years ago that Mat Latos finished 13th in the league with a 2.92 ERA. That year he struck out over a batter per inning and held opponents to just a .216 average. Last season didn’t go quite as well. Latos finished outside the top 100, but his 3.16 FIP was only marginally worse than the year before. This season Latos finds himself pitching in Cincinnati instead of...
