(Photo credit: Mark LoMoglio) New York Yankees 5 — Boston Red Sox 2   The Yankees committed two errors but the two errors by the Red Sox were big in today’s 5-2 win.   The first error committed by the Red Sox came in the 6th inning with one on base already. This would be a part of the bases becoming loaded for Eduardo Nunez. The Yankees notably sloppy defensive infielder is still swinging a good bat as he hit a single into right field for the Yankees first run of the game. Another error in the inning would bring in the third run for the Yankees in a 3-run 6th inning. Back-to-back doubles, one by JR Murphy, would bring in the Yankees fourth run and a 9th inning home run by outfielder Thomas Neal brought in the last run of the game for the Yankees. Brett Gardner got a hit and a walk today, extending his Spring hitting streak to 6, all of the games he has played in.   Adam Warren started today’s game and gave up 1 run in 3 innings of work. Power-hitting first baseman Mike Napoli took Warren deep for the only run off of the 25-year old right hander. The pitcher to follow Warren, Jose Ramirez, got in and out of trouble in 2 of his 3 innings of work but managed to keep the Red Sox off the scoreboard. Only the last pitcher of the game, Kelvin Perez, had difficulties as he walked 2 and would let a run in on a wild pitch.   Win – Jose Ramirez Loss – Joel Hanrahan   Notables Yankees *Thomas Neal – 1 for 1, R, Solo Home Run (1) in the 9th, RBI (1) *JR Murphy – 1 for 1, 2B, RBI (3) Red Sox *Mike Napoli – 1 for 2, R, Solo Home Run (1) in the 2nd, RBI (2) *Jarrod Saltalamacchia – 1 for 2, 2B
