After a spectacular night of MMA action, UFC President Dana White awarded Junior dos Santos (pictured), Mark Hunt, Glover Teixeira and TJ Grant each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 160: Velasquez vs. Bigfoot II.”
Dos Santos and Mark Hunt took home “Fight of the Night” for their thrilling shootout. Dos Santos ultimately ended things in the final round with an impromptu spinning heel kick.
“Cigano” was also set to score “Knockout of the Night” for the highlight reel strike, but Mike Tyson talked White into giving that honor to Grant. Grant upset former lightweight top contender Gray Maynard in the opening round of their affair with a violent barrage of strikes.
Teixeira’s first round guillotine choke on James Te Huna was the only submission on the card, so it was a no-brainer who took home “Submission of the Night.”
UFC 160 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fight of the Night:
Junior dos Santos and Mark Hunt ($50,000/each)
Submission of the Night:
Glover Teixeira ($50,000)
Knockout of the Night:
TJ Grant ($50,000)

Junior dos Santos (pictured) was a heavy 4-to-1 odds-on favorite to dispose of Mark Hunt on Saturday night at UFC 160. Dos Santos eventually did what he was supposed to do, but the former heavyweight champ did so in a manor nobody had ever seen from him before.

Mark Hunt (pictured) proved once again he’s got a chin made of granite after refusing to stay down after eating several bombs from Junior dos Santos at UFC 160 – before ultimately succumbing to a highlight reel spinning heel kick, of course. Unfortunately for Hunt, his toes are made of human bone just like the rest of us.
According to “The Super Samoan,” he broke one of...
The prevailing opinion has never favored Mark Hunt. Always fighting against the odds, Hunt has gritted his way through a tumultuous yet highly respectable career. He's never been the most technical fighter, certainly never the most athletic but always the toughest man in the room and the power in his hands could light a city grid. Mark Hunt is a journeyman. His path in combat...
Cain Velasquez def. Antonio Silva via first-round TKO : Pure domination by Cain once again. It’s a truly incredible act, considering the insane size difference in the fight. Bigfoot just couldn’t get anything going once again and Cain was able to time the big man looking to shoot in, connecting with a HUGE uppercut that flattened Silva. Cain then finished him off with...

I don’t know GSP’s record at predicting matches, but to say with 100% certainty that Chris Weidman is going to defeat Anderson Silva, well, that’s pretty darn interesting right there. Just what is it about Chris Weidman that makes GSP so confident? Will GSP be laying down some cash on the fight? Weidman is a huge underdog after all…

It may not be the most box office lightweight title fight the UFC has ever arranged, but TJ Grant (pictured) will get next dibs at reigning 155-pound champ Benson Henderson, nonetheless.
Grant solidified his status Saturday night by steamrolling former top contender Gray Maynard at UFC 160.
“We’re looking at all these different fights and options and all these different things...
When Broadway star and pigeon hero Mike Tyson showed up on camera at Saturday night’s UFC 160 PPV, some people wondered why the heck the former boxing champ was there, while most of us just assumed that it was because he wanders around Las Vegas during his downtime and sometimes happens to stumble into major venues. But he was actually there to hang with his bro and UFC legend...
(Props to whoever took this photo) Forrest Griffin is hanging up his gloves. Before the UFC 160 post-fight press conference got underway officially, Dana White made the official announcement that the veteran fighter was indeed retiring from the sport. White stated that Griffin will remain employed by the organization in some form or another. Skip [...]
