Danica Patrick confirmed Thursday that she will not attempt the Indianapolis 500 this season.
Patrick is making her full-time debut in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Stewart-Haas Racing and has opted to focus on that effort. To attempt the 500, she would need to run both that race and NASCAR's longest, the Coca-Cola 600, on the same afternoon.
She did confirm that she is trying to run a partial Nationwide Series season and is talking to Turner Scott Motorsports, though nothing has been finalized yet.

Danica Patrick says she does not plan to race in this year's Indianapolis 500 because she wants to concentrate on her first full-time season in NASCAR's Sprint Cup series.
Patrick also skipped the Indy 500 last year, instead running in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day. She said Thursday that she will do the same in 2013.
