Dwight Howard has said no more times than a virgin on prom night and now no one wants him, or so it seems. The Oklahoma City Thunder are quietly keeping tabs on the most desired big man since Shaquille O’Neal and the longer it takes for Dwight to share his services with a new suitor, the more likely it becomes OKC will become the lucky gent. On January 28, 2012, yours truly wrote about six dark horse teams who were sniffing around the NBA’s biggest tease. Number one on that list was the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Magic will never say this publicly but they are well aware they are headed to “Rebuildville” once Howard exits Disney World. Acquiring a quasi-star player who thinks he is better than he actually is would stifle Orlando. However, three starters who play hard in Serge Ibaka, James Harden, and Kendrick Perkins would soften the eventual death blow to the franchise. Franchise players are hard to attain, however.... Extension refusals lock up major moves

By this time in July, NBA fans have typically already seen the biggest moves go down. The NBA's schedule makers are busy piecing together each team's 82-game schedule and talking with the TV networks about the games they want. That whole process and the next stage of the NBA's summer (perhaps the first stage, the one thing that should have been done back in December if...

Doc Rivers' Presence Primary Reason Boston Has Become Desirable Free-Agent Destination

Unthinkable though it may be to the diehards who have a closet full of green jerseys and strain their vocal chords cheering at Celtics games, Boston traditionally has not been the NBA's prominent destination for players. The Celtics never came up on Dwight Howard's wish list over the last two years of Howard's ESPN daytime television drama. Kevin Garnett, for all the...

How will Kobe and another Superman co-exist this time around?

As we all know the Thunder have set a pretty high bar in the Western Conference as the team to beat. I know it was only one Final’s run but, do you really see anybody comparable in the West? I didn’t until I heard that Dwight might sign the extension. I know Kobe said he would leave the league in two but, if Dwight is there for five Kobe may stay a bit longer. Kobe is no longer...

Sports, the Cleveland Cavaliers will only participate as the third team in a deal that could send Dwight Howard to Los Angeles if Andrew Bynum signs a contract extension with the team. The Lakers want the framework of the three team deal agreed in principle before allowing the Cavaliers to speak to Andrew Bynum about his willingness to sign a contract...

Kobe plays GM, has Pau's back

When the Lakers traded for Steve Nash and as they continue to pursue Dwight Howard, much has been made of their salary cap situation and their lack of depth. Once the the Thunder eliminated the Lakers in the second round of the playoffs, rumors started flying immediately that the Lakers were going to trade Pau Gasol. Slowly the tide on those rumors turned a little bit when people...
