It's becoming a timeless classic in the playoffs. If it were the early 90s, EA would have to make a video game about it. Lakers vs. Nuggets. It seems perennially these two teams can't avoid each other. And maybe that's a great thing. There is no love lost for each other, even with the wildly-varying roster of the Nuggets over the past two seasons. It's just something in their DNA. Maybe it has something to do with Kobe Bryant and his legal problems in the state. Maybe it's just a good-old western rivalry. Either way, when these two meet, it's a rumble. The Lakers will approach this series boasting possibly the best technical and ruthless player in the league (though I'm not sure now after the scoring title fiasco): Kobe Bryant. Pair him up with possibly the best center in the league this year in Andrew Bynum and the ever-smooth Pau Gasol, and you have a pretty big firecracker to deal with, even without the addition of the role players. Kobe won't play, concedes scoring title to Durant

SACRAMENTOKobe Bryant made a handful of half-court shots Thursday in a playful competition with teammates and assistant coach Chuck Person, but the Lakers star wont make so much as a layup against Sacramento. Lakers Coach Mike Brown said Bryant would sit out the teams final regular-season game and concede the NBA scoring title to Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant. Bryant needed 38 points...

Kobe sits as Lakers lose in finale

Kobe Bryant skipped a chance to win an NBA scoring title and thought nothing of it. The Lakers' star sat on the visitor's bench during Sacramento's meaningless 113-96 victory over Los Angeles in Thursday night's regular-season finale dressed in a sharp grey suit and tie. Even if he wanted to prevent Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant from leading the league in scoring...

Kobe and Pau Buy a Horse Together

Kobe Bryant is known as one of the most competitive players in NBA history, and apparently that isn't limited to just the basketball court. Up for auction on Tuesday at the Lakers Foundation's charity fundraiser was a four-year-old gelding horse, Siempre Mio and Pau Gasol put in a bid. Not content to lose at anything, Bryant began a mini bidding war in the 25% stake of the...

Kobe to sit final game of the season; Kevin Durant wins third consecutive scoring title

Head coach Mike Brown and the Los Angeles Lakers have decided to rest Kobe Bryant for the final game of the regular season in preparation for the playoffs, officially conceding the NBA scoring title to Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant, his third in a row. Bryant trails Durant by mere percentage points in the scoring [...]

Denver Nuggets lock up the 6th seed

Denver can never turn a party down, and make no mistake about it, Denver locking up the 6th seed – in a 131-102 victory over Minnesota — destined Denver to face Hollywood in the first round. 7 Denver Nuggets scored in the double-figures as the team scored a season high of 131 points over the Timberwolves . Nuggets see up-tempo attack as key to beating L.A.

The Denver Nuggets are facing the Lakers in the postseason for the third time in five years, so coach George Karl already knows plenty about what doesn't work against Kobe Bryant and his 7-foot teammates. Karl sees a chance for the Nuggets to get it right this time in a major playoff upset, but only if they run the Lakers off the court. The third-seeded Lakers open their quest...

Nuggets vs. Lakers is speed vs. power

The Denver Nuggets desperately wanted to make the playoffs to get their new young roster some experience under pressure. In coach George Karl's mind, they got a jumpstart on that. Karl had his team treat the last seven regular season games as a playoff series, suggesting Denver had to win at least four to reach the postseason for a ninth straight season. They won six, moving...

Ron Ron costs Lakers NBA Finals according to 2K12

Everyone knows that video game simulations mean little in reality. But, they can be fun. For many a year the likes of 2K Sports and EA Sports have been using the NBA 2K and NBA Live franchises to predict the outcome of real-life NBA playoff scenarios. This year, Owen Good at top video games website, Kotaku, has used NBA 2K12 to predict the outcome of the 2012 NBA Playoffs. According...

Denver Nuggets: Inspiration Mix

I was in search for something INSPIRING, but gave some of the best plays from the 2011-2012 season at the same time. Something that demonstrated a team that possessed heart, intensity and courage through injuries abound and trades. A video that showed what Denver Basketball is. When ESPN and the head analysts want to toss Denver [...]

Kobe Bryant to sit out season finale

Kobe Bryant will sit out Thursday night's regular season finale at Sacramento, meaning Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant will win his third straight NBA scoring title.

Suspension will keep World Peace on the bench against Denver

Metta World Peace was suspended by the NBA for the Lakers' final regular-season game Thursday in Sacramento and six more games -- whether they are playoff games this season or regular-season games next season. World Peace's elbow to the head of Oklahoma City's James Harden was what prompted the suspension, which NBA commissioner David Stern said was tailored specifically...
