Golden State Warriors
With the NBA trade deadline approaching Thursday afternoon, the first domino has fallen in what has been a very quiet and uneventful week thus far. Rumors were swirling about the Orlando Magic trying to acquire Monta Ellis in hopes of pairing him up with Dwight Howard. Instead the Golden State Warriors have traded Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks in a five-player deal that will send Andrew Bogut to the Bay.
Milwaukee Bucks Get: SG Monta Ellis, PF Ekpe Udoh, C Kwame Brown
Golden State Warriors Get: C Andrew Bogut, SG Stephen Jackson
Why this makes sense for Milwaukee:
The Bucks get rid of Jackson who never fit in with Milwaukee, rid themselves of the injury-prone Andrew Bogut and the $23-plus remaining on the next two years of his contract while also saving almost nine-million dollars in cap space for next season since Brown is a free agent after this season. Ellis combined with Brandon Jennings gives Milwaukee an exciting, extremely quick, offensive-minded backcourt; something the ...
BEST OF MAXIM
The Golden State Warriors ended 48 hours of speculation finally moving Monta Ellis and acquiring the center they so coveted (even if he is still injured). Late Tuesday, the Warriors traded the high-scoring Ellis, along with Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown to the Bucks for former top overall pick Andrew Bogut and veteran guard Stephen Jackson.
At first glance, it looks like the Bucks got...
MILWAUKEE -- Wednesday was a great day for the Milwaukee Bucks on multiple levels.
The day began with the arrival of newly-acquired Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh. Then, with Ellis and Udoh watching from the bench unable to play until player physicals are completed, the Bucks defeated Cleveland to take a two-game lead on the Cavaliers in the race for the Eastern Conferences final playoff...
MILWAUKEE -- Forget waiting until next year. The Milwaukee Bucks want to win now. And by acquiring Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh in exchange for injured center Andrew Bogut, the Bucks showed that they really, genuinely mean it.
With Milwaukee currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference after winning five of its last six games -- including a win over Cleveland on Wednesday -...
During last night's NBA affair between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers, Clippers star forward Blake Griffin was not welcomed to a block party thrown by Warriors guard Monta Ellis.
Watch as Monta sends this ball into the front row:
In a trade that strikes me as a big surprise, Monta Ellis will be sent to Milwaukee in exchange for Andrew Bogut. Stephen Jackson, who quickly fell out of favor with Bucks coach Scott Skiles, is also headed (back) to Golden State, and big men Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown will be on their way to Wisconsin. Monta has been involved in various trade rumors recently, but none of them...
Dorell Wright scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half, Monta Ellis added 19 points and 11 assists, and the Golden State Warriors knocked the Los Angeles Clippers out of first place in the Pacific Division with a 97-93 victory Sunday night.
David Lee had 18 points and 10 rebounds after spending most of the game in foul trouble, helping the Warriors beat the Clippers on the road...

I thought about naming this post “The Buck Swaps Here,” but then I realized that no one cares about the Bucks. Which means that Monta Ellis is dead to the NBA fan. It was a nice run. We all shared some laughs and we’ll remember the good times. Like that one time Ellis played 44 minutes and took 30 shots. And that other time he played 44 minutes and took 33 shots. Then there...
The Bucks have traded Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to the Warriors for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown.
I have a little secret for you. Come closer … closer … closer … ok, buddy, you’re too close back away. Your breath stinks. Anyway, I’m not sure if you’ve heard but there was a big trade in the NBA last night. Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown were traded to the Bucks for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson, or in other words, for nothing at the moment. Sshh, keep it...
