FINALLY! One of the best days of the year. How can you not absolutely love it? A saturation of roster moves, new faces and players, and Flip Saunders will make his first player acquisitions as President of Basketball Operations. I can't wait. For better of worse. My colleague TCSnyder and I have been fired up for days now and recently took some time throughout the past week or so to check in with eachother to see where we were at in regards to the draft and early free agency. Rather than post another mock draft that is "slightly different" than the mocks at in some futile effort to pretend we're different, or recycle the bloody obvious revelation that the Wolves will pick KCP, Zeller or McCollum, I'll post our exchange of opinions on the draft as well as what may occur with the Wolves here in the next week or so as free agency begins.  Mike: Okay Tim, I hope you are frying your tail off in Arizona as I am in Dallas. It feels nice to h...

Report: Minnesota may want to bring KG back

According to league sources, Wolves president of operations Flip Saunders has had a conversation with the Celtics about Garnett. Who initiated the talks, in whom the Celtics might have an interest on the Wolves and whether Garnett would waive his no-trade clause to come to Minnesota are unknown. One source characterized the talks as Saunders just doing his due diligence in the event...

Timberwolves Trying to Trade Up For Oladipo

The T’Wolves are offering former #2 overall pick Derrick Williams , the #9 and the 3 26 picks in this Draft, in order to move into position to grab Oladipo. I’m not sure if the T’Wolves package [...]

Reports suggest Wolves have interest in Nets' guard MarShon Brooks

MINNEAPOLIS -- If Flip Saunders used yesterday's pre-draft press conference to mislead any general managers or media out there, there's only half a bluff to call. And that's assuming Tuesday's reports of the Timberwolves' interest in trading for Brooklyn Nets shooting guard MarShon Brooks have any substance. According to the New York Daily News,Minnesota and...

Ervin: Spurs provide blueprint for sustainable success

MINNNEAPOLIS -- With so many years of experience, the Minnesota Timberwolves' new front office general is accustomed to using past examples from the past as illustration. Kevin Garnett's his favorite. "We drafted Garnett, and that was pretty good," former coach Flip Saunders said Monday when asked about navigating this year's draft. "You look at Magic"...

Wolves head into draft looking for shooters

While preparing to run a draft room for the first time, new Minnesota Timberwolves President Flip Saunders has said on multiple occasions that the closer the draft gets, the more likely it is that teams fall in love with certain players, even in a down draft. It appears that player for Saunders is Indiana guard Victor Oladipo. The Timberwolves enter the draft on Thursday night...
