Totally Agree. I understand getting rid of Marion. But when you could have had Garnett for Marion and now you go after Shaq? What the hell is Kerr thinking!

I'm not so sure Kerr is thinking. I was prepared for Trix to leave next season, when his contract ends, but mid season? For Shaq? I couldn't think of a bigger mis-match, the Suns and Shaq? Maybe he'll prove me wrong. But I just dont see how this would work.

We can only tell with time if this works out. All this hype started when Gasol got traded to LA. People were wondering why GS signed Webber before Gasol got traded. Damon's gone to the Spurs too, and now Shaq to PHX?

Talk about a busy trading season. This ain't the last trade in the west, but if this trade goes through, I don't think PHX will benefit.

No, but honestly, I really do hope it doesn't mess up their team, because even though I don't want them to win the championship or anything, they've still worked really hard and It wouldn't be fair if this messed it up for them.

I'm starting to see the good in this trade. I mean, I'm still pretty heartbroken that Trix is gone...
but a big plus, Shaq is constantly double-teamed, which will leave some of our shooters open, like LB and Raja and obviously Nash. And if a team chooses not to double team Shaq...well there's an easy two. He just needs to get and stay healthy.

Shaq who will play half a season and only 20 minutes a game with stats like 15pts 7reb. 7turnovers and 0 defense for marion who is the suns best rebounder and defender no offense to Amare. Shaq wont fit and this will take the suns from contending for a title to losing in the first round.

Whatever apologist crap you try to peddle, the unescapable truth is that this is an awful, awful trade for Phoenix. At best O'Neal plays 2/3 of a season... and it's been a very long time since he's even averaged 10 rebounds a game. This season/last season he's averaging less than 8!

this is the silly trade in the history of the nba, first of all why would you trade away a talent of marion's talent for shaq? shaq is not the same shaq who won those four titles with the lakers, he started to break down two season's in miami. he's old slow, beat up, washed up and should have retired. i can understand that a lot of teams in the west panicked when the lakers recieved gasol and let's face it that trade was the best in the west and puts the lakers at the tip top can u say twin towers with gasol and bynum. but for kerr to mess the chemistry up so bad by adding busted up shaq to this high power offense is just a terrible decision. the sun's are going to be the laughing stock of the nba, their going from a good solid team to a mediocore team. one of the stupidest trades in basketball. people say paxson was dumb for not getting gasol to chicagowhen he had a chance, well kerr has just taken the trophy from paxson.

Two things, In my honest opinion the Shaq attack has sucked so bad this year because of the shitty team. I would not be surprised to see him start nailing down double, doubles for PHX. Yes Im serious. Marion got the trade he wanted, so I think until we see him play for them we should hold off the judgment.

I agree. I'm trying to not pass judgement...I have to remember, it's still SHAQ. It's just taking me a while to get over the heart break that Trix really is gone. I'm happy for Shaq, I didn't want to see him waste away in Miami (no offense to the team, but they just aren't winning). I actually saw his press conference this morning and I am excited that he'll be wearing a Suns jersey...it's just going to take fans a while to get used to the fact that Shawn is gone. He was a Sun for 9 years, that's along time and it's hard to get over in just one day. But I'm excited to see what Shaq does...and after lots of thought, I actually think he is what we need to get over thehump.

If Steve Nash makes everyone better by 10, then Shaq will be like old Shaq even with his bad knees. He's lucky and I hope Marion sucks and realizes how much Nash impacted his game.
