Spencer Hawes had 20 points, 9 rebounds, an assist, 3 steals and 5 blocks. He is averaging 13/6 over the past 2 weeks. I’m not sure how I feel about that, but his ownership is creeping up to the 50% mark. What does this have to do with Gustavo Ayon? With over 27 minutes as a starter, Ayon went for 4 points on 4 shots, plus 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Now everyone that asked if they should pick up Ayon is going to ask if they should drop him and pick up Hawes. I wouldn’t let this game sour you on Ayon, but I might roll with Hawes anyway. Like the gardener asked, how’s that for hedging? Prior to last night, Ayon had 9/12 and 12/13 nights. That’s good. If he has a clunker every now and then, it’s because he was never supposed to be a starter and can’t be expected to produce good stats every night. I mean, the guy is 27, he’s practically deceased.
