Amar’e Stoudemire will return for game 3 against the Indiana Pacers for the first time since having knee surgery over 2 months ago. Stat, with the support of his teammates and coaches, is eager to get back on the court and help this team in the playoffs. However, many Knicks fans are “up in arms” about his impending return…again. For the second time this year STAT was put on the shelf with knee injuries. Stat has battled back from numerous injuries in his career and this is yet another comeback story for him to tell his kids and grand kids about when he is older sitting in that rocking chair. How will this story end? Like the other comebacks? Or will this be a new beginning for Stat and the New York Knicks? The Playoffs: Woodson: Amar’e will start off playing 10-15 minutes. What is the big deal folks? Knick fans and the media make it sound like he is going to take away minutes from the entire frontcourt. Stat was a force offensively when he was healthy, especially the 2 weeks before his recent knee surgery. He can offensively obliterate Hibbert and West, hopefully getting them into foul trouble early. Defensively, he is what he his, not much of a rebounder and a below average defender. Do not expect Dennis Rodman on the D people, but what you can expect, when his legs and explosion are at full capacity, an Amar’e that can impose his will on the offensive side of the court. The Knicks need help in the post offensively without question. Tyson and Kenyon are anemic on that side of the court and Melo can’t do it all by himself. The addition of Stoudemire could be a blessing in disguise, for at least 10-15 minutes of course. The Reality: After this year Amar’e has another 2 years at 45 million owed to him. It will almost be impossible for NY to trade him in a salary dump. Unless they can find another sucker out there to take on the contract, Stat will be here for those 2 years. No matter what anyone thinks, Stat will be on this team and will be apart of this rotation, unless he goes down with another injury. We all hope that he stays healthy and regains some of his potent form he once possessed, but time is not on his side, as his body begins to break down. I am not bashing Stat, but the evidence is there for all if us to view. Besides the injuries he has had in Phoenix, his track record New York is not all that bright. He had the guts to come here as FA and was the only one to take a chance here in New York. He was and early MVP candidate, until MDA ran him into the ground and began to tire mid-season before the Melo trade went down. Melo and Stat never gained that on the court chemistry they needed, but that was the least of their problems at that point. Stat has had a plethora of injuries: From his back, to his hand, to his knee and his knee again, Amar’e Stoudemire has not been healthy almost his entire Knick tenure. With the huge amount of money he was signed for, the Knicks are locked into a player that has not given them a return in value. In order for the Knicks to move forward with Stat on their roster they need to create an alternate path. With veterans out there like Elton Brand, Kenyon Martin and Earl Barron, all who will come on the cheap, the Knicks need to secure one or two of these players to SPELL Stat in case of another setback. LET ME SAY AGAIN. Stat will be here and what ever you get from him will be a bonus, but to add insurance in the form of other PF’s or Center’s is very important. Let us take a deep breath and welcome back Stat with open arms again…and again…and again. He gives you a presence on the court that the Knicks are currently lacking. He can help; his teammates know it and so does the coaching staff. Some of the fans think so as well, but to the few who think he will be a liability, take a breath and re-read this article. Amar’e Stoudemire to Play in Game 3 of Knicks vs. Pacers

The Knicks have been pretty inconsistent throughout the playoffs, but during the season they seem to play better when Amar’e is in his suit and tie. But, coach Mike Woodson was insistent that when Amar’e was healthy enough to play, he would get some minutes and that is the plan for game 3 of the Knicks vs. Pacers series. The New York Knicks have established a playing-time plan...

Knicks' J.R. Smith fined for flopping

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been fined $5,000 by the NBA for a flop during Game 1 of their playoff series against Indiana. Smith was defending Pacers guard Lance Stephenson when he ran into a pick set by David West. Pacers Fan Shows How Much He Dislikes the New York Knicks

There is no doubt that people from the Midwest live a different life than those from New York City.  The fast paced life of the Big Apple is enough to scare off the laid back country life of anyone from that region. But a fan attending game three of the Knicks/Pacers series made it abundantly clear about how he felt about New York.  Well, the Knicks at least.  This picture, snapped...

JR Smith Doesn’t Want to Talk About Clubbing or Slump; Fine $5k For Flopping

Depending on who you talk to, the clubbing and slump have nothing to do with each other or there is a direct correlation. I lean toward them being separate things, only because JR always hits the club and JR always been a streak shooter who makes a lot of boneheaded plays at times. So, he isn’t doing anything differently now, than he has done his whole career. With that being said...

Amar'e's limit would be 10-15 minutes

Amare Stoudemire will likely be limited to about 10 to 15 minutes per game if he is able to return during New York's playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. With Stoudemire nearing a comeback from a two-month absence following right knee surgery, both he and the Knicks are keeping expectations low. ''To be honest with you, I don't think we or he is expecting...

Knicks eager to get Stoudemire back vs. Pacers

Knicks coach Mike Woodson believes Amare Stoudemire can help his team win Saturday night in Indianapolis, so he's not keeping him on the bench for Game 3. Instead, Woodson is gambling he can bring back a potentially big scorer without messing up the team chemistry. After missing two months following surgery on his right knee, Stoudemire is expected to play 10 to 15 minutes,...

Chris Brown hits Harlem hoops hotbed

Controversial R&B star Chris Brown can often be found sitting courtside at NBA games, but he's also been known to take the court, judicial and basketball, from time to time. According to the New York Post , Brown did just that Tuesday night in New York City, surprising a group of basketball players at PS 192 in Harlem when he showed up to play a little pick-up ball at the...

How to Dress For Success in the NBA: Iman Shupert's Shoes

Iman Shupert of the New York Knicks does not need Red Bull to give him wings. The man has shoes that do it for him. Literally. I don't know if he is trying to channel the Greek God Hermes, the God of transitions and boundaries. Actually, considering the dunk that he threw down on the Pacers a couple nights ago I'd say he certainly delivered something! The dunk in question:

Mike Woodson Says J.R. Smith Might See Less Playing Time If Slump Continues

Something is going on with Knicks guard J.R. Smith and if he doesn’t fix it, he might be glued to the bench.  Smith has been in a terrible slump since elbowing Jason Terry during the Celtics series. New York head coach Mike Woodson was on ESPN Radio, and let it be known Smith could lose his time if he doesn’t start shooting the ball well. “I’ll gauge J.R. as we go along...
