At one point Amar’e Stoudemire was one of the better rim protectors in the NBA, twice finishing in the top ten in blocks per game. But that was a few years ago and now rejections don’t quite occur with the same regularity. Through his first 12 games of the season Stoudemire recorded just one block in 174 minutes played.
On Thursday Nets guard Joe Johnson was the victim as Stoudemire doubled his season total.
It was that kind of night for the Brooklyn Nets, who are now 5-14 this season after losing 113-83.
BEST OF MAXIM
The Nets were down by seven points at halftime tot he Knicks. And then . . .
A 34-16 loss in the third quarter and 24 minutes later the Nets look hapless in a 113-83 loss to the Knicks at Barclays Center. Mikhail Prokhorov is likely not happy about seeing his team's neighbors come to his building and win by 30.
The Nets have already made some major moves re-assigning...
The Nets may stink, but at least it’s nice to see that Kevin Garnett hasn’t changed a bit. In the fourth quarter of the Knicks’ beatdown of the Nets at the Barclays center, KG and Andrea Bargnani got into a little bit of light touching.
Nothing special, pretty typical. But when asked about the minor riff, Garnett had a response for the ages:
Jason Kidd must be speaking...
Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Lawrence Frank was demoted on Tuesday by Jason Kidd. As a result, Frank will no longer be on the bench during games and will not be coaching during team practices. Instead, Kidd has assigned him to providing daily reports. Last month, word surfaced that Kidd and Frank were having friction. Frank […]
Despite getting annihilated by the crosstown rival Knicks at home Thursday 113-83, the Nets did receive a small dose of good news.
In an interview with TNT during the game, Nets general manager Billy King said Deron Williams likely will return to the lineup for the Nets’ next home game, which comes against the Celtics on Tuesday.
Williams has missed eight straight games since...
The Nets take on their recent trade partner, the 8-12 Boston Celtics led by Brad Stevens (above), next Tuesday in the midst of an easier portion of the schedule for Brooklyn.
Let's face it: the Brooklyn Nets are a trainwreck at the moment. They are eight games under .500, lost by 24 at home to the Nuggets yesterday, have four key players injured for an indefinite...
“Sir” Charles Barkley hopped on the subway to get to the New York Knicks-Brooklyn Nets matchup on Thursday. Barkley made the commute to call the game on NBA on TNT. Check out the pic of his trip below.

Since the Brooklyn Nets are getting destroyed by the New York Knicks, Kevin Garnett decided to take on Andrea Bargnani because well….I’m still trying to figure that one out.
The incident happened in the fourth quarter of play as Garnett gets tangled up with Bargs after a missed shot by Mirza Teletovic and causes a mini-incident where no punches were thrown:
If stealing headlines from the New York Knicks was Mikhail Prokhorov’s goal when hiring Jason Kidd, then he got what he paid for…kind of. The Knicks haven’t necessarily been flying under the radar as they’re mired in their own mess, but I digress. Back to the Nets. If Prokhorov expected Kidd to win actual basketball games and deliver a championship in the next three...
During Thursday night’s battle of the boroughs between the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks – which also could’ve been renamed the race to last – Nets Kevin Garnett and Knicks Andrea Bargnani got into a mini scuffle during the fourth quarter that led to double-technical fouls. Right after that happened, the NBA’s king trash talker received a dose of his own medicine as...
Paul Pierce gets so injured during the Boston Celtic’s game that he has to be carried off the court in a wheel chair. Low and behold, the miracle of all miracles, just minutes after wheeling off the court Paul Pierce can not only walk again but is healed enough to re-enter the game. Well played Mr.Pierce.
Brooklyn is buzzing over this weekend’s battle at Barclays between borough-bred boxers ZAB JUDAH (42-8, 29 knockouts) and PAULIE MALIGNAGGI (32-5, 7 knockouts) for the NABF and NABO Welterweight titles (Dizzamm that’s a lotta B’s)…
If that ain’t enough B’s for ya, boxer Judah hails from the Brownsville section while bruiser Malignaggi reps local Bensonhurst.
Jason Kidd played for the Knicks last year, and is coaching against them this year. What a league, this NBA is.
When: 7:00 PM; Thursday, December 5th, 2013
Where: Barclays Center; Brooklyn, NY
The Knicks have lost nine games in a row; the Nets have lost three of four. The Knicks are 3-13; the Nets are 5-13. The Knicks have the 2nd-worst record in...
Andrea Bargnani and Kevin Garnett were each assessed a technical after getting tangled up during the third quarter of Thursday’s Knicks-Nets game at Barclays Center.
The post Kevin Garnett, Andrea Bargnani Get Tangled Up, Receive Double Technicals (Video) appeared first on Beyond The Buzzer.
Rarely, has a game been more anticipated, more debated by area fans. Our Knicks are better than your Nets. Brooklyn will stomp Manhattan. Carmelo Anthony should own Kevin Garnett. Yes, it was a game everyone looked forward to seeing, a game everyone circled on the calendar.
And then the season started.
Still, despite the Knicks burden of a nine-game losing streak and the Nets making...
