Free-agent PG Sebastian Telfair drawing interest from Celtics, Lakers and Spurs, league sources say. — Sam Amico (@SamAmicoFSO) September 3, 2013 Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio tweets this morning that Sebastian Telfair is drawing interest from the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. Telfair joined the Celtics the first time via a draft day trade in 2006 and played in 78 games for the Celtics back in the 2006-07 season, along with rookie Rajon Rondo. Telfair averaged 6.1 points and 2.8 assists over 20 minutes that year with the Celtics. Then, he was arrested early on the morning of April 20, 2007 for felony possession of a handgun and speeding. It was his second incident involving a gun as he had been arrested when he played for Portland for trying to board a plane with a handgun in his pillow case. As a result of the arrest, Wyc removed the nameplate from his locker the same day and said that he had played his last game as a Celtic. If the Celtics are considering bringing him back, I guess Wyc has forgiven and forgotten Bassy for the gun incident. Last season, Telfair played for both Phoenix and Toronto and averaged 7.4 points and 3.6 assists over 21 minutes per game. If Rondo is expected to be out for any length of time, Bassy could help out if the Celtics can get him at the vet minimum. Personally, I'd rather have Leandro Barbosa back, but then again, it's not certain that he will be ready to start the season either. [Discuss on CG Forums!]
