Celtics continue their winning streak to five games. An incredible end of the first quarter by Boston’s bench allowed the green team to gain some leverage throughout the course of the game. Specifically, Boston’s rookie power forward Jared Sullinger and shooting guard Courtney Lee  filled the TD Garden’s atmosphere with a relentless attitude for the basketball and a surge like no other. Sullinger finished the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Lee contributed 14 points and three assists. Going into Friday’s match-up, Houston had won 10 of their 13 contests, but couldn’t fight back from a large margin to survive tonight’s contest. The Rockets have presented tremendous growth and the progression continued with performances out of the young and talented James Harden and former Florida Gator Chandler Parsons. Harden added 24 points and five assists in 40 minutes, and Parsons tallied for 18 points and two rebounds. Doc Rivers’ teams’ defense was relevant throughout the whole course of the victory. From a rough and tough presence by Sullinger and effective on-ball defending by Lee and Avery Bradley against Harden and Jeremy Lin. While the first half was about the supporting cast, the second entailed Boston’s veteran presence in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The Truth led the team with 23 points, six rebounds, and three assists. The Big Ticket had an impressive 17 points and eight rebound performance. Boston will look to gain another victory to add their five-game winning stint against Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

The Wonderful Simplicity of Courtney Lee

Courtney Lee has all the makings of your average player. He has never had a PER over 13 (League-average is around 15). He has hovered around league-average efficiency throughout his entire career. He always had a rep of a very good defender, but certain stat heads said he was merely average. All of these things may or may not be true. But one thing is for certain. I love him on this...

Paul Pierce Could Be Available

Could Paul Pierce really be traded?credit: Trade rumors are swirling around the NBA as the deadline approaches, although no major moves have been made just yet. Much of the talk has surrounded around names such as Rudy Gay or Pau Gasol, but you never know what kind of deals might happen. Is it possible that Paul Pierce, who has spent his entire career as a Celtic and brought...

Celtics Making Pierce Available In Trade Talks

Paul Pierce has spent his entire career with the Celtics.

The NBA should look out as the sleeping Giant has been awoken in Boston, C’s have won 5 in a row

The 2012-13 season did not start the way the Boston Celtics wanted it to as they struggled all year.  They came into 2013 with a record 14-16 to start the season, and were badly in need of a spark to turn things around.  Well it arrived on January 2nd in the form of guard Avery Bradley.  Bradley, who has missed the entire regular season up to this point after surgery on both...

Recap: The bench grabs the lead early & the starters fend off Houston late for 5th straight win

The Celtics let a 17 point deficit dwindle down to two but Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce  refused to let this game slip through their fingers. KG dropped 11 of his 17 in the fourth and Paul Pierce landed a big lay-up plus the foul as the Captain would lead the team with 23 points, as the Celtics win their 5th straight, with a 103-91 victory. The Green: The Bench. After a hot...

Pierce, Garnett lead Celts past Rockets

Paul Pierce scored 16 of his 23 points in the second half and Kevin Garnett added 17 points and four blocks Friday night as the Boston Celtics nearly blew a 17-point lead before pulling away late in a 103-91 victory over the Houston Rockets. The Celtics extended their season-high winning streak to five games, but only after surviving a 12-0 run that pulled the Rockets within two...

Celtics fend off Rockets, 103-91

Not sure why Russell and Olajuwon got paired up... Paul Pierce led the way with 23 points, and had two key hoops that held off a Houston 4th quarter rally and propelled the Celtics to a 103-91 victory. In Wednesday night's win over Phoenix the Celtics top 3 scorers all came off of the bench (Green 14, Terry 13, and Sullinger 12).  The subs continued that trend through the...

RedsArmy presents Fan Friday #37: “Grit & Balls”

Ryan is a 23 year-old Celtics fan from Worcester, Ma. who currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. I first came into contact with him on Twitter about a year ago. We immediately clicked due to our mutual interest in the Boston Celtics. I was impressed with his vast knowledge of the team’s history. He attributes that to his family-specifically his Grandfather: I’ve been a Celtic...

Video: Celtics bench getting it done against Houston

A good friend of the site, GeeZee, has put together another C’s video for your enjoyment. It features highlights from the Celtics’ bench last night during the 2nd quarter of Boston’s win over the Rockets. 22 of the Celtics’ 29 second quarter points were scored by the reserves, and they were key in helping the C’s net their 5th straight win. The bench finished with 40 points...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Suns

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:     Defense:      Overall:  Kind of a blah effort from Rondo for most of the night.  He looked aggressive early, and he had spurts of energy, but overall, not much to speak of.  He had more energy directing the defense from the bench...

The Best of Tommy - Rockets 1/11

I love Tommy. I hope he never retires. While other teams' fans complain about him being a homer, I just love listening to him. He's loving what Avery Bradley has brought to the team with his return. He describes Avery as a bee. I kind of think he's more like a cross between a bee and a pit bull. "Well, Bradley, once again, out-hustles all of them! It'...

My Reaction to Overreaction

Ray Allen signs with Heat: "Ray left? Our season is over!" Courtney Lee signs with Boston: "We got Courtney Lee? Forget Ray we're so much better now!" Celtics Draft Jared Sullinger: "Steal of the Draft *******!" Celtics Draft Fab Melo: "What the **** Ainge?!? Why didn't you get Perry Jones III, you disgrace of a GM?" Pre-Season: ...
