Photo by David Liam Kyle/Getty Images Everyone loves to see a match-up for the ages and tonight is one of them as arguably two of the best point guards in the NBA go toe-to-toe for the first time in the 2012-13 season in a Wednesday night showdown. After missing a month due a broken left index finger, Kyrie Irving is back. His return has been incredible. In the past five games against teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, Irving has been establishing 25.4 points, six assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. The second-year point guard is making his presence known producing big numbers across the stat sheet and slicing through the defense to find his teammates for the easy basket. Cleveland (5-21) is struggling immensely, but with their star player returns and  their self esteem has inclined. Irving is one of the most athletic figures in the NBA next to Russell Westbrook. He displays his explosion up and down beating the defense up and down the floor. Then, there is t...

Rajon Rondo wears “Fighter Jet” Foamposite vs. Chicago Bulls

In last night’s loss to the Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo broke out some kicks that were definitely deserving of a win. Rondo debuted the Nike Air Foamposite One “Fighter Jet”, a sneaker that isn’t set to release until February 9th, 2013. This was the 4th time in 2012 that he wore a pair of Nike Air Foamposites on court. Below, check out some of...

Rondo Vs. James: All Hail King Rondo

For those of you who are new to TSHQ, first of all welcome. Grab a seat. Would you like a drink? I believe K.M. Venne and Cole Zwicker were just discussing the intricacies of JaVale McGee’s self-indulgent retweets of himself over a fine burbon whiskey. Toward the early days of this sites inception onto the world wide web I penned a short article about why Rajon Rondo was more important...

Cavaliers-Celtics Preview

Kyrie Irving claims the Cleveland Cavaliers are more assertive versus the NBA's so-called elite teams than against lesser competition. The Boston Celtics will need to start playing considerably better in order to be known as the former. Boston looks to avoid a fourth straight loss while Cleveland tries to end a four-game skid Wednesday night at TD Garden. The Cavaliers (5...

Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett to Plan Their Christmas Festivities Around Brooklyn

Not every team gets the honor of playing on Christmas Day, but the Boston Celtics do. This Tuesday the veteran Celtics will hit the road in a festive matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Bet on the NBA tradition when the celebrating franchises pull out their limited-edition holiday jerseys at the Barclays Center. After a mediocre first two months, the Celtics have much to take care of...

I Enjoy Looking at the Cleveland Cavalier Girls

Ever since Lebron James left Cleveland the press and the attention has kind of simmered down over there.  And now that Kyrie Irving got hurt (he should be back pretty shortly) there isn’t much buzz on this team other than Anderson Verajo which is a little boring (except for his hair). So what is there to buzz about with the Cavaliers?  Little did I know they had a cheerleading...

Recap: The two most annoying Bulls beat crap out of the Celtics

We’re using this photo way too much this year… Nate Robinson bugged the **** out of me when he was with the Celtics with is ill-advised threes… but Doc Rivers always said he would occasionally win you a game.  He did tonight for the Bulls, dropping 5 of 7 three pointers in a 100-89 Bulls win.  To add to this craptastic effort, Joakim Noah dropped a triple double on the C’s...

Boston 89, Chicago 100 - Effort Not There as Celtics Fall in Chicago

To win in the NBA, it takes effort. The Boston Celtics did not bring enough effort, losing to the Chicago Bulls, 100-89. The Celtics were able to keep things close through three quarters, but let things get away from them in the final frame. There was just a supreme lack of defensive intensity all night, as the Bulls scored 24-plus points in all four quarters. The Bulls were quicker...

Box Score: Raptors 113, Cavaliers 99

The Cavaliers welcomed Dion Waiters back to the lineup in this one, but it would make little difference as Cleveland once again lost to Cavalier Kryptonite, the Toronto Raptors. This one was close through 3 quarters, but the Raptors pulled away in the 4th quarter to snap their 11 game road losing streak. The Cavaliers were lead by Kyrie Irving’s 23 points and Anderson Varejao chipped...

Celtics-Bulls Preview

Kirk Hinrich's return didn't prevent the Chicago Bulls from finishing with their lowest point total in five seasons. Now they are hoping Hinrich can help slow down Rajon Rondo and the Boston Celtics. The turnover-prone Rondo turned in a huge effort the first time these teams met last month, and his Celtics will try to end a four-game road slide Tuesday night. Hinrich returned...

Cavs (5-21) at Celtics (12-12) - Game 27

OPENING TIP A home game against Toronto is supposed to be the basketball pill that cures everything. Instead, the Cavs looked about as bad as they ever have in the Kyrie Irving era, dropping a 113-99 decision to a Raptors team that had lost 11 straight on the road. The Celtics have been no great shakes lately, either. Theyve lost three in a row. Thats probably worse news for the...
